A slow Tahoe!
Best way to de-badge a car.

I'm thinking about removing the badges.
What is the best way to get them off?
I've heard of using piano wire.
Thanking you in advance.

Fishing line to cut through the adhesive/remove the badges, then your favorite adhesive remover to clean up the paint. Finally, some wax to cover up the spots where the badges once lived.

I heated mine w a hairdryer to soften up the glue, then used a credit card&some dental floss.I used a bit of WD-40 to remove the excess adhesive.Took all of 20 minutes to do

I used a hair dryer and dental floss. DO NOT lift up one side of a badge and try to pull it off, since it will likely scratch the back side. Just use the floss like a knife and saw through the sticker. Then, WD40 gets the rest right off. It also all depends on how old your badges are. I debadge all of mine now, and I noticed that it gets much harder to do it if the sticker has gotten brittler. Either way, it comes off and there uis no sign of damage and it takes less than half an hour!

Heat gun (or hairdryer) dental floss (can't scratch anything) and Goo-Gone.

Yeah,I'd be VERY CAREFUL with a heat gun.You can blister the paint in an instant if your not extremely cautious. You just have to warm the adhesive a bit,so a hairdryer is suffice

Nope, not at all. It also comes right off witbh simple car wash. Then a nice clay, 3 coats of wax, and a polish to top it off. I do the same routine to most of my cars. Sad thing is I get so worn out after that I never end up washing the car again.
