20x10's in the rear, correct tire size?

I want to get these wheels. They are 20x10 for the rears with a et40 offset.
I wanted to see if anyone has used this setup and if they have any clearance problems.

I was thinking of running 285/30 or 295/30 on these rims.

Can anyone see any problems with this setup?

It will be 285/25's or 275/30's for the rear.Specially if you lower the car at all.Those others are way too tall.Not sure on the 40 offset,it might be very close on the inside for a 20in and lowered.Then again Im not sure you are lowering it,but I waould assume so.

10" and ET40? Hrm. Jangy and the others will chime in, but I think it will rub. You'll need spacers.

I like the offset, but worry about the tallness.
My HREs are 10 inchers with an offset of 42 and I get no rubbing at all with 295s. So, if the world were flat, I'd say go for it.

Since it isn't, here's my fear. A 285/30/20 will be 5.3% larger than the OEM size. That may not sound like much, but it makes a huge difference in your tolerances. It instantly fills the wheel well up as if you had it lowered, so if you lower more (which you will have to not to be in a lifted car), you will definitely be pushing that difference.

Just FYI, a 285/25/20 would at least only be 1.2% larger and would have a better shot at not rubbing. I do not know of anyone that has run 295s without rubbing on any rims larger than 18s. You may be the first?

^^^^ what he said.

changing the diameter of the wheel is not good. changes your gearing, skews your speedometer,

also consider that with 285/25/20s you'll only have 71.2mm of rubber on those massive wheels (compared to the stock 92.8mm)... that'll be bumpy...

seriously though... if you're going for 20s, follow the following of jangy, and 285/25s, and slap on nice wide 275 up front...

Thank you for the info. I was trying to stay away from the 25 series to avoid the rougher ride and it has less cushion to protect the wheel.

also, I can get a much better deal on 295/30's than any 285 tire. I saw some toyo proxie 4's for only $167 each.
