CL63 Style Wheels on eBay
Has anyone seen these? They look really nice on the E IMO. I just don't know about the quality of the wheel.

Those Vossen wheels look like a cheap copy of the MHT Paragons:

Cast vs. stock E55 AMG wheel
Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference between a cast wheel and the stock E55 AMG wheels? Isn't it a one piece wheel?

'10 E63 AMG
I just got a set of 20" for my E55(to replace the HRE's that I've dinged up badly over the past 3 years - I didn't feel like paying another $6K when I can't seem to keep the damn things off the curbs!). 255/35 up front, 295/25 in the rear. Great fitment. No rubbing. Look awesome. $2400- for the wheels, $4000- total with the rubber.

OMG, those HRE 547 are hot on your car! Should just get the dings fixed?

I looked at these Vossen's when I was trying to decide on my next set of wheels. D2Autosport, a sponsor here, was offering them at a great price. I chose not to go with them because they are a 1 piece cast wheel. I ended up going with a set of Sevas Forged R55's, which are 3 piece forged.

In 19" flavor, they retail for 3995.00 (shipped). A sponsor here had a group buy a little while back and I got them for 2995.00 (shipped) for any finish they offer. I went with brushed aluminum centers w/ polished lip.
Contact Joseph at Wheel Executives and see if that price is still good.

cast wheels are not as strong as forged. the stockers are forged. cast wheels crack easier than forged. as far as buying knock offs you can forget it. it looks kind of funny to have a top of the line car and then put some rojas on it. it defeats the purpose and they may not hold up to all the abuse if you are a hard driver. there are a lot of great forged wheels out there. so take your time and shop around. there may be some great deals out there.

The only AMG forged wheels made are on Black Series models. The rest are "all" cast. Most AMG,Brabus and Lorinser wheels are poured cast which is heavy and porous due to the pour cast process. Actually a lot of the AMG reps ebay (taiwan/china etc) are pressure cast which means the wheel material is shot into the cast which is solid with no air pockets hence a stronger lighter wheel for a fraction of the cost.

not stock.
be aware that some of the "3 piece" wheels made from the "new" companies are not full forged.... ok, te center pieces are forged, and sometimes th lip...but typically the barrels are not and that is why you get wheels the bend easier than others....
