The drivers have 30 plus years of stunt driving , have done most of the stunts in the cars you have seen in many TV show and movies and simply stated on the street going block to block the 63 felt "faster" . This was not a timed track event nor a comparo between the Vette and the Mercedes. Simply highly respected members of an elite group giving props to the E63. Sorry but my experience racing the Z06 is vastly different. On the street the 63 is much easier to control and drive at WOT.
I am not debating the fact the Z06 is faster on paper or on a track or hot lapping or even a drag strip, just relaying what some well respected drivers stated after spending 2 weeks in the Z06 and the E63.
Why are you guys so quick to critisize the 63 and or question anyone who is impressed by it?

Wow i'm relatively new to MBworld but guys this isn't a dick measuring contest. It seems if someone's opinion doesn't jive with the boards, everyone trashes them. Sometimes on these boards it's hard to get any useful information with all of the strutting and crap.
Cheers Hook em' Horns!

I agree completely...If one disagrees...they start bashing...some real cool guys.

Juice, I remember not too long ago you were not aware of a way to get your 63 to start out in 1st gear. You proclaimed your car was really fast even when it was starting out every time in 2nd gear... That you blamed yourself for not really knowing how to race/shift and lost a street race. I recommended to you to go learn how to drive your car to get the most out of it. Only a few months and some appearances at the tracks and over 1000 forum posts later, you're talking a lot of smack.

As I originally posted this was a short burst "light to light" appx 900ft. Plus the brakes would need be applied running light to light in the city.
I would like to share with you the video from our track day.Video of a stock Z06(the fastest stock Z in California) racing a stock E55, the same stock E55 that raced the stock E63 later in the vid. While neither car ever beat the Z06 through the 1/4 mile both cars were ahead for the first 1/8th of the track
Watch the video and you will see how what I posted is possible. The guy driving the Z06 was the best I have seen at launching and he was beating a highly modded C6 all night long he also beat some modded 55's but a stock car that obtains traction can hang for 660 feet had the brakes needed to be applied on a street race well it would happen around that or slightly earlier in a short race. So one could easily form the opinion the Sedan is faster than the Coupe. Rolls on the fwy or even a complete run down the 1/4 mile would change that. For the weight diff the E55/63 keeps up well.

The E55 was stock and driven by a first time at the track owner

Its easier to post personal attack rather than face the reality you could lose to a rookie driver in a slow car,
Guy lives much closer to Sac than I do yet I never saw Mr. Cool at any of the German steel events?
Scared to bring the 55 down?

ALL SIXTY THREES WERE STARTING IN SECOND
this was due to a necessary software update and likely hindered the early performance of the vehicles. I still cannot shift the car very well, but its still as fast as your 55, thats a fact

I don't know how many times you've been to the track... Certainly more than me since I have retired from racing since an old accident on the tracks last year. You seemed to have been offended by it and ROLF. OK! whatever.
Think that your car is fast when it's started in 2nd gear is a novice sentiment. It is funny to me. Yes I've raced cart open wheels and autocross fof 13 years before retiring last year. When my wife drove up to Infineon and took care of towing my race cart home, and my 13 year old said to me "no more Dad" You can beat me at the track anytime, champ!
I don't read these forums much anymore, I used to find useful information... now mostly it's about people proclaiming their car is fast and quite a few posts about how a Corvette has been beaten by the mighty 63... I find it curious that it's mostly Corvettes that get beat, not Vipers or Porsches or... I found most of the Corvette owners I know almost never race... I guess the ones that do always manage to find a 63 to lose to

Why are you always so amp'ed up for a fight? My 1st post, I stated some facts, and said you're talking smack. Is talking smack a bad thing? You've certainly made progress, no denying that and I never took it from you. But you've always been proud of yourself and your car, and have never been shy about it nor shied away from defending it with zeal. I recalled when advising you to learn to drive, with no malice you actually heeded my advise and made progress since then, what happened???

My apologies to you.
I have been getting it from all sides and mis-understood your post.
I have been to the track alot but still can improve
Sorry for my outburst towards you.
Its quite the opposite here, most people do not believe its possible for a 63 to beat anything but perhaps your Honda Pilot, even then I bet they would question the Honda drivers skill level.
