Changing trandmission fluid.....how to
I have read a few threads in which some other members had their transmission fluids changed and it improved their cars shifting etc.
I have a higher mileage 03' that is no longer on warranty and was looking to do it myself.
Does anyone know how hard this is to do?
If it is something I shouldn't do myself...will one of jiffy Lube type places be able to do it for cheap or is that a bad idea.
Thanks for any input.
If you are pulling the pan off, do that next. Get a new filter and pan gasket.
The fill tube is on top of the engine bay, Usually has a black cap with a red or black lock on top that prevents people opening it. You will have to pull the lock off the cap with a flat screwdriver first and the cap will come off afterwards.
Fill in exactly the same amount of tranny fluid you took out. Make sure you use OEM fluid from the dealer. Atleast I always recommend it.
