Wetterauer chip mod for 07' E63
I have been enjoying my E63 and have added some nice toys to it and am now considering performance options. The first of which is the Wetterauer chip mod. I am interested to learn if anyone has done this and what the results were. I also would like to find out how this may effect the warranty.
Thanks

Every chip mod is the same. The vendors charge whatever the market will bear. The cost is astronomical in every case. The benefits are low. That being said, your warranty should be safe, just don't mention it to your SA. Learn to drive your car like Juicee and you don't need this. Also try turning off ESP. The ****er will run.

I respect people's opinions but sometimes things are just too exaggerated, sorry.

63 Software Tuning
So what were the gains on Juicee's car and what were the gains on Tom's car after the software tune? Do you have any dynos? Which company did you use: Powerchip, RennTech, Kleemann, etc...

I didn't even remove my charcoal filters yet.....and I still think there is room for improvement.
You never mentioned your tune Josh. Did you notice an improvement over your stock runs?

I am going to the track every week to try and sueeze out low 12 sec time slips for the fastest STOCK times thinking you guys are stock and now I find out you are modded.

My times did not improve and actually dropped by a huge margin after my first tune, I went in again after being disappointed, the car ran the 12.64 and Tom ran the 12.41, not great and seemingly the same as a stock car. I reflashed for a tranny update and ran a 12.61. My very best run ever was stock prior to any tune the 13.0@106@4620 DA with a 1.699 60ft. So no ECU tune did nothing for my car, except change throttle response. My before dyno was 408 my dyno after 2nd tune was 409. All this for 1800.00 dollars, sound good? I know Powerchip will continue to work with me , and I do not wish to cause them any harm , but for me the tune failed.
My best run is completely stock except for the Pilot sport cup tires.
I am running an 030 ECU in stock form from AMG. I will re-tune once the 63 has a before and after dyno showing a "gain" on a non AWD vehicle.
Get your filters out man.
seems stock tires do just fine as well
wait to do the ECU tune until a tuner can post a before and after dyno, same day same machine same car.

Powerchip ECU Tuning
Do not go with powerchip, they're NOT that good. I know many members that tried them (including myself on a C-Class) with very bad results.

Plus the fastest times are in the EAST for the 63 despite the supposed failed tunes.
Toronto and Englishtown
Venom has the fastest trap
sean has fastest time
both stock both in the East
lesson here is to move to the East and do not get an ECU tune if you own a 63 other than an ML

I dont have enough energy for us to have one of our famous spats, but since youre the data and timeslip DA correction king you should know that thats entirely just not true, oh and nice full disclosure of your ecu mods whether they worked or not your car isnt stock

I will give Juicee the benefit of the doubt and believe that had he gone faster he would have disclosed the ecu tune to the rest of us.

who cares?
My mods decreased performance, yours improved your car by over ONE SECOND!!!! Trust me I would much rather had a 11.5 run and disclosed then ran a 14 and not disclosed. My apologies but this forum is not the proper environ to discuss the failed tune that should be between me and powerchip.
I have nothing to hide my car is stock except for some missing interior pieces.

probably no one, but you do get on kind of a pedestal about your "data" and being the fastest this and that (as i do to ) but I just found it ironic that you missed one important piece of it?
this has nothing to do with my car, and interior mods are like a power adder dude cmon.....ok just teasin ya on that one

I totally agree. Juicee should have simply stated that the ecu tune is not working properly and move on. It's not fair to the 100% stock cars who are posting their time slips.

I definately would have.. Apologies, but this matter was private due to the potential damage to my car. Tom disclosed his tune and I figured many of you especially Jason were aware of this based on my disclosure to ADAM and all the other folks I joined @ Sacramento. I did diclose this to people through PM and other means. Fact is it will hurt the tuners and since they were working to fix this I felt it unecessary to drag them through the mud. Stock times are better or just as good so there is no advantage being played here.
My tune failed and my ECU is currently stock.

Not sure who claims that, but cars are cars. The tracks back east have better air and elevation, the main reason you see better times out of the same types of cars.

that came out wrong, but yes I was referring to your post about our air and track elevation, but you can get the same quality air at sac raceway so not sure where your getting your data

I would agree with you and Jason also is correct in pointing out that Sacramento is a mere 30 ft higher than MIR. I think MIR experiences lower temp occurance,

True you can get good quality air and runs at Sac,but its still somewhat inland and doesnt get the great air as most of the tracks back east do.Its the best we have out here, unfortunately its a 5 hour(1 way) drive for me to run there.East coast tracks get alot more of the cool ocean air, combined with great elevations, you cant go wrong there.
