Hey fellas, I am new to this board but I have monitored it for the last year. I knew when "The Lank" made the comments on the M Board it would spark another heated debate and he was feeding himself to the fire. The guy is obviously new and has not done much research of the two vehicles. Maybe, give him a break? It is not like he came to this board and attacked you guys.
Now, as for him wanting to race for pinks, that is a different story! I hope if and when this happens you guys will document it. He is asking for it! You guys are extremely confident in your cars so someone should take him up on it. He might be talking sh*t, who knows.
As for myself...I really like both cars. They are both different and awesome in their own way. Knowing what I know now about modding them, I might have gone with an AMG. From what I have seen though, the M5's best 1/4 has logged a 12.2 and the 55/63 is high 11's in stock form with good drivers/best conditions. No doubt, MB has the best car for the 1/4 but it is definitely a driver’s race in everyday conditions. M cars I think are either equal or have a slight advantage in on the roll situations. I am really not sure why this is such a debate...ITS WELL DOCUMENTED! I have personally never raced an AMG (never see any down here) but would love to. I have seen lots of videos that go both ways and would like to find out for myself. I am non-biased and to me, it’s all in good fun.
I am not by any means calling anyone out but if there is a board member in the south Texas area that would like to get together for some friendly runs than please PM me. I would like to do different race scenarios and yes even from a dig. Win or lose, I will post the results with video on the M5 Board.
Being a former GSXR rider I am with you guys on the bike comment. Anything over a 600 that is made in 2000+ will take either one of these cars.
Just my two cents!

Hanging with the Ruff Ryders?? Ooookay champ.
E55's have no potential??? Um...sure, has he ever been in a K4 E55? Because I have and I can tell you right now it would smash an M5, M6 or whatever in any state of tune that Kelleners can put together. 640 horsepower is a lot of ponies.
I'm the biggest fan of the M5 in the world, but I know its limitations and hell, my other car puts 10 buslengths on it in a matter of seconds, but I'd still rather drive the M. You just have to be realistic and humble on an open forum because someone out there will have the truth. Talking about racing for pinks with a guy like Chiromonkey who's car is insane fast is just dumb.

I used to race a blown Mustang with 550 at the rear. It seems like the only guys that talk knowledgeable and realistic about these cars are the ones that own or have owned a car that would smoke it. This goes for both forums. As for pinks...I bet there is someone out there that will take him up on it. If he is full of it than he should be booted off the board.

As far as Ruff Ryders go, I see them sometimes in Manhattan...usually going out to dinner with their wives/gf's.
CylinderHead, my boy has an E55 with Evo pulley. Made a pretty drastic difference. The pulley swap is probably the best mod you can do for a 55k car.

You go to Spring Valley? I've been to a few car meets there on Sunday nights...

Myself...maybe slight difference. Seen some guys dyno about 15-20 before and after. I'd say 15hp is fair range since its not that noticeable. Some video out there of guys pulling on otherwise stock M's. Worth it for the money if you install yourself.

this guy is full of it and can't even keep stories straight between members. he pm's me applying conditions for the race. i have to wait a week before he can get the pink slip because he just bought it in july and that BOTH cars must be stock. after i tell him i'm not spending thousands of dollars to remove my mods he accidentally tells me that his car is getting full dinan mods on wednesday (which i realize was the real reason he asked me to wait a week). then he pm's another member that he already has tens of thousands of dollars of mods including stuff from active autowerks.
i'd still race this guy but I think he's so full of **** that i'd make the trip to find out he doesn't eve own an m5. he says he's going to be in vegas and will try to bring the car to phoenix so we'll see...

some speak about a supposed v10 stroker engine that would deliver 610 hp, but believe project not completed, or shelved.

What goodies.. We are trying to make some money here... Maybe once we take his car we can part it out on Ebay.. In all seriousness, I don't think he is serious about racing for pinks, that is why I said lets do it for $$$.

yam R1(1kcc's) vs Jet vs Porsche TT race starts at 5:50sec

I simply can't focus... By the way, maybe you should start a thread with all the pics.. Those who don't like it or are offened by it, don't open the thread.
