i simply asked if he was sure it wasn't a 600 since he didn't even know see the bike and i even congratulated him on the kill. soon after the mb bashing started.

anyways, it's lead to a member throwing down a challenge to race his m5 for pinks! if sleeperx or another one of you guys don't step up, i may have to plan a trip to collect on that bet. as much as i'd like to take this guys car, i'd just as soon rather someone else that doesn't have to drive over 2000 miles do it. hell, i'd just like to see someone smoke him for fun on video.

Chiro, **** er.... I mean Lank story reminds me of the time when I saw a Lear Jet take off from chicago just as I was passing the airport on the tristate. I had about 1/2 mile lead on him, and he too was coming up fast in my mirror. I could tell he saw me and definately wanted to play so I pushed a "little button" in my car and much to my dismay, I put 2-3 lengths on him. He came up on my side and gave me a thumbs up too! .....

Lank "rent to own" doesn't need a race he needs to move to the same planet the rest of us sane humans live on...

lol. i may not be the most diplomatic forum member, but that guys is a straight up tool. the more i think about it, the more i realize he can't be serious and has NEVER raced the races he claims. i highly doubt he even owns an m5...it's likely dad's if he drives one at all.

Let's all be realistic we all know that at the end of the day this guy will not give his car up. If he wants to race just for bragging rights I am all up for that!!, of course at the end of this month. My car is in the shop being installed the Throtle body and additional Heat exchanger. If he wants to race by that time....Chiro set it up!!!!

on the other note, I can't race for slips since I owe half of my car to the bank,lol! so I will not put up something I don't completely own. I would love to do it for braggin rights though.

Dude, pullllease, that's friggin DMX's crew. I've raced plenty of bikes in the M5, anything above a 600 will grease us all. Jody, Sleeper, one of you set it up and take this guy out. I'm pissed just reading that thread. Race him and tape it and post it up. ASAP.

I am friggin FUMING at this crap, I can't believe the culture of self-appeasement that appears on most of these boards. Be realistic, if you're a car enthusiast, a true enthusiast, the first thing you realize is that there's always something faster, and what you drive isn't going to win every race (unless you're talking about my Supra.)

I might be a bit of an outsider here but you guys have really made me feel at home, and I love the culture here. Some of the stuff that goes on at other boards just turns my stomach.

 

Already asked for a friendly race at the end of the month....let's see...

 

You guys should call Pinks and do this for real on TV.

Hey fellas, I am new to this board but I have monitored it for the last year. I knew when "The Lank" made the comments on the M Board it would spark another heated debate and he was feeding himself to the fire. The guy is obviously new and has not done much research of the two vehicles. Maybe, give him a break? It is not like he came to this board and attacked you guys.

Now, as for him wanting to race for pinks, that is a different story! I hope if and when this happens you guys will document it. He is asking for it! You guys are extremely confident in your cars so someone should take him up on it. He might be talking sh*t, who knows.

As for myself...I really like both cars. They are both different and awesome in their own way. Knowing what I know now about modding them, I might have gone with an AMG. From what I have seen though, the M5's best 1/4 has logged a 12.2 and the 55/63 is high 11's in stock form with good drivers/best conditions. No doubt, MB has the best car for the 1/4 but it is definitely a driver’s race in everyday conditions. M cars I think are either equal or have a slight advantage in on the roll situations. I am really not sure why this is such a debate...ITS WELL DOCUMENTED! I have personally never raced an AMG (never see any down here) but would love to. I have seen lots of videos that go both ways and would like to find out for myself. I am non-biased and to me, it’s all in good fun.

I am not by any means calling anyone out but if there is a board member in the south Texas area that would like to get together for some friendly runs than please PM me. I would like to do different race scenarios and yes even from a dig. Win or lose, I will post the results with video on the M5 Board.

Being a former GSXR rider I am with you guys on the bike comment. Anything over a 600 that is made in 2000+ will take either one of these cars.
