So every one knows I'm a BMW hater. but last time i checked a CL 600 has a V12 right???

There is also almost 800 lbs in weight difference I think but it could be less. My CL65 is almost 5k lbs. Its not all about raw HP/TQ and displacement. Gearing, tranny's, coefficient of drag, etc. come into play at these speeds. I give a lot of credit to the M machines because of this.

I hang out on that board, but I hardly jump into those posts. there are a few ppl that ruin it for everyone. it gets old. even I wasnt making excuses. You dont have to sit here and convince me. I dont get mad and butt-hurt if other cars are faster than me. As you say, its just physics. That engine as a lot more power. No one car can be all things. +1 MB. Its still an honorable mention to the M cars for hanging in w 2 less cilinders, 2 less turbos, and 20% less engine displacement.. but the M has 2 more gears, shifts a lot quicker than any MB auto, the cars weigh easily several hundred pounds less (500lbs +/-)
The CL has a 5.5L v12 Bi-turbo.
The M5 has a 5L V10
its more like 10% engine displacement advantage.
If you give a car the jump and you still reel him in.. that is pretty much the worst kind of kill you can have... no?
I do agree its not really a fair race, but nice of them to go along with it.

Besides, the gearing let alone the weight difference between these two cars should pretty much even out the playing field.

Dont get me wrong, the M motors are amazing but like some people pointed out, its not keeping up with a v12tt and my money says its not keeping up with a K4 E55 either. Physics wins every time.

Guys please remember that the CL600 was TUNED! IT HAD AROUND 640BHP!! thats why it walked the M5/6. if it was stock, it would have been the other way around, period. ![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
But thats the beauty of having a 5.5 Twin Turbo V12, you can mod it easily.
regarding Gustav's videos, there was obviously something wrong with that K4, probably not running well and i also remenber something about the tires being underinflated...

I think he was directing that comment towards the M5board/Gustav crowd. You know the ones that swear that a stock M5 will beat a highly modified F-16 fighter jet from a rolling start.
