That m5 was on 20's and it ran 126 mph out the back door which I thought was pretty good. His best pass on motor was 12.20's or 12.30's can't remember exactly, he also had an AA ecu and no charcoal filters. I know the guy his handle is topsupra.

ttm6 is a buddy of mine...his M6 is highly modified. It never used to get out of the hole fast at all...in fact, I would take him to about 100MPH before his mods...now he can keep up with me out of the hole no problem.
Unfortunately for me, that car is damn fast on the highway...as you can see, from 45-150 or so, he walks away.
The E55 did have problems that night. The guy told me that his engine was running too hot so as a safety measure, the supercharger shuts down.
One note, the temperature was about 95 degrees or so and muggy...really wasn't a good night to run.

to tell you the truth the m6 lacks at a stand still unlike your e55. the problem is in launch mode it only revs the rpms to 1600 rpm and dumping the clutch. than it chirps and bogs down, taking some time to get going again. no car has enough power at that rpm to go ***** out, unless you have mad torque like the boosted amg cars.
there's a fix to that though, the european launch control which is standard in the UK revs the motor to 4000 rpm and then dumps the clutch, but doesn't burn through the tires, it modulates throttle and clutch giving it enough wheels spin, not too much making it a cosistant run.
so for me i feel at the track my car will grab and bog down a bit, but i'm planning on installing the UK version ecu "smg" which i feel will make a big difference in times. i will run to see the US version "time slips" and then install the UK SMG ECU to compare times.
even though my car runs great, at the track it will be a bit harder to run out of the whole. on the street it's ok because in launch mode it has enough power now that it burns through first gear and i adjust the throttle for good take offs.
as for the track i feel it will stick and at that 1600rpm it's going to be hard to pull off at the light like any amg car can. so time slips are unknown compared to a stock m6.
but i'll keep you guys posted when i do go to the track.
take care, and by the way mercedes makes some bad asssss machines!

But you can launch M5/M6 without LC at 4000 Rpms...Just turn DSC off, 4000Rpms and engage SMG or rev then drop SMG......It works as good as EURO LC...LC is ot always realible...sometime the car goes sideways and you loose more cause you think LC with do everything for you and you jsut have to go WOT...
You can also adjust Euro LC RPMs...You can lauch at 5000 RPMs or higher is like it...I think it will work good in proper prepared track and you will see good times...especially with slick if Launch at like 6000 Rpms...sometimes when they hook up with LC you launch like 4wd cars...

Using LC just kills the SMG clutch...it will leave longer with LC launches...

the EURO LC is good for the track because it revs higher using the smg shifter and just let it go when you get the light, where as when you just slam the gas it delays a bit before it starts to dump the clutch making it hard to time the light perfectly.
to make it easy for you, EURO LC rocks! US LC sucks ***.
we'll see which works better, but already know the answer to that!

well the US LC is a bit different, it won't let you adjust rpm like the the EURO. also the only way is to get the car to a higher rpm is to do it in burn out mode which all you do is just mash the gas all the way down without using the shifter, but that doesn't help either because when you try to modulate the throttle it stops burning up the tires.

Euro LC will kill you clutch much faster, that is why BMW did introduced in US, cause too many of US would go to track and use LC and with such hook up as well prepared track provides, clutches and diff will fail very fast...

My freind I think you need ot practice more to launch the car in burn out mode and feed the throtle....this way is will work better then LC, we got better 1/4 times without LC...

yes you're right,
i talked to a friend who actually drove the e60 m5 that did 11.5's with nos and he told me the same thing. he says our US launch control is the best for my car and burnout mode will not work as good as you think. i even tried burn out mode and trying to feather the throttle but as soon as the button under the gas pedal is slighted up it cuts the power making it hard to continue playing with the throttle.
on the street US launch control works great for me because it spins through first gear and i can get the throttle perfect for each run.
i guess i'm just going to have to go to the track and find out myself what work best.
thanks for the advice.

I would say the Torque makes up a bit , remember the video depicts a modded M and the 55 is having probs.
My 63 stays right with the stock M6 , its actually a really interesting race.
Many 55 owners here have pulled M cars even at higher speed so I would not be comfortable making the claim the M cars "kill" 55/63.

His M5 is now modded and would kill the E63.

I'd love to see a stock E63 vs a stock M6 given that the M6 is faster than an M5 due to the lighter weight

Hopefully we will soon see more 63's running. I like the BMW crowd , you guys seem alot more civil than the lambo power guys.
to race on the drag strip vs a M is unfair less your in Europe, or maybe somebody is learning to launch the car? Doesnt DerekFsu own an M? How is he doing with 1/4 mile times?
Ok Jidex get this stock M6 vs E63 run together, I would love to see a 0-150 mph or 40-150 take away launch. I would consider running an M6 if they simply add a passenger to make it a bit more fair. These dam Benzes are TOOOOOO HEAVY.

My computer was broken for a few days and i just got it back......I went to theMB site and saw where someone had posted a race between an M5 an e55,and a cl55.
I had previously ran the M6 about a year ago and won and we both decided to run again at a later date.I had taken the ecu out of my car and send it to kleeman for an update, but had not driven the car until the day of the race.I ran the car up to 160mph a few times for the computer to adapt, and when i reached the designated racing spot the car was overheating like crazy, not to mentioned that it was over 100 degrees that day.
With the car over heating like it was,and me not letting it cool, and the temperature being over a 100 degree.....like a fool i decided to do it anyway.
We ran from a 40mph role and i let him hit before me.He hit first,i followed, and the car fell on its face.....s/c shut down......tried it again,b/c we were still on the hwy.....same result. We pulled off on the next exit, check my car again.....this time it was really boiling hot.We decided to do it again at a time when it was cooler, also to do a roll on,and from a dig.
On a side bar the M6 is a strong running car...dont take it lightly like i did,and got cocky and underestimate it and run knowing that my car was overheating.
The M6 won.....no excuses ,and we were very sportsman like about it,he was aware that the achelees heel of the E55 was heat...so he has decided to give me a re match when its cooler.
For those of you that was asking ,the M6 is modded and makes 500rwhp,my E55 is a k4 and makes 530rwhp.....we both had gas,but no one was shooting that day.The guy with the M6 is a super great guy,and a good friend of mine.
After the race i ran over a median and busted two rims and tire, and he handled the situation for me ,knowing that i was away from home.
Hopefully i will have my car back on the road by next week.....and get a rematch with the M6.
