The dealer prices in Autotrader are rarely if ever realistic. Its their opening number but in this case its downright stupid IMO. They wont even get a call to negotiate.

Okay, I had to call just to find out. The sales guy claimed he was unaware of the online figure that is posted and they are offering the car at $52,900. Now I haven't looked at prices recently but I know a dealer here has an 04 with 20K miles listed at the same price so I assume they are still way off base.

There are always idiots who think they can scam someone. PT Barnum said it best, "There's a sucker born every minute". But who knows. Maybe someone is stupid enough to buy it.

I think your right... Maybe if someone walks in, and the salesman tells them. My manger authorized me to sell this for $65k, the consumer thinks, "wow, thats over $10k less than asking, i'll take it.. Maybe thats what they are hoping for??
I understand dealers start high, because of CPO and all that. But $76k for an 03' will 50k miles?? come on...

The dealers hate us because we are saavy and know our cars' values. But for each one of us, there is probably 10 E55 owners that just dont know or dont care. I always wonder about the stock E55 driver I see on the street and how much or how little he or she paid.
