E55 v S4 ... film evidence of why I wanted no part of that S4.
Having owned one less modded than Raudi's, I knew that it was capable of surprising people.

It dreaded flash was done in the spring last year. It didn't seem to affect the performance. One other thing, I had a full tank of gas when I left home, about 60 miles away. So, my guess is that it had about 17 gallons, assuming it holds 20. Next time I need to try to run with about a quarter of a tank and see if that helps.Originally Posted by bfnnrgn

The Viper was going over 160. The best I could do was between 130 and 140Next time I will bring my GPS and record the various max speeds and then I should have some good data for comparison in case I decide to do some tweeking.Originally Posted by ROCKETW19

Sounds like you have a strong E55 then, I was already running on 1/4 tank. Originally Posted by Can Drive 55

No disrepect to your ride and definitely no dispect intended towards you bro. I think you have one of the better looking rides on the board and we know you had heat soak issues. I was the one who told you that. I was referring to the beginning of the video where we were side by side and then when the window rolled up my car started to pull on yours. The rest of the video I think the TB made a big difference. You have one quick car and I certainly wasn't trying to disrespect you or the car.Originally Posted by AMG Rider

Dammit, I forgot about the weight of gas, I had a full tank. Filled up that morning and only put about 30 miles on it before i got there. Next time. BTW, when is next time? :Originally Posted by bfnnrgn

I am thinking that the weight difference with the pano roof has to make some of the difference. who knows? One thing for sure, both of our cars will haul a load of groceries home in a hurry.Originally Posted by bfnnrgn

The only one who hit 160+ was the twin turbo viper. I made him take the very first run of the day and I almost wet myself. When he blew by us it literally sounded like a rocket, and I'm not exaggerating! I thought he would run out of runway and into the grass. The driver had "drag brakes" on his car from the drag strip as opposed to heavy duty street brakes. Originally Posted by ROCKETW19

Anyway, he was super nice though and the guy who him the car was there as well. They were awesome.Regards,

We're working on it. If it needs to be a weekend it will take some time. If people are willing to do it on a Monday or Tuesday I can set that up immediately.Originally Posted by Raudi-S4

Oh that's right. You don't have pano roof. I thought you did. Could be it then. That pano roof is almost 200 lbs extra over the standard sunroof.Originally Posted by Can Drive 55

I was hoping to run the SLK more against some of the other cars like the Porsches and older M5s. Maybe even a new M5 in P400 mode just to see what it would do. I also wanted to race my 2 cars to see what the difference was for fun. I should have lined it up sooner but people were looking at it so I left it out until later after lunch was over.
It really was a fantastic event. I hope you got enough donations to cover the cost of everything. I know the staff at the airfield were really excited that we were all there.
