Openroadracing this weekend
My buddy was telling me about an "open road racing" event this weekend in nevada. The Nevada highway patrol blocks off 45 miles of freeway and you are "allowed" to open your car up it has a total of 9 straightaway's to test top speed and they'll give you a few trap speeds. I think entry is a few hundred dollars. Cheap considering the alternative if you try it on the 105 and get popped. I think the website is openroadracing.com. We are thinking of going. Represent the AMG badge.OK- I just checked the website-it is 130 miles of highway State highway 305, Battle Mountain, NV. This is unbelieveable.

Sounds like a lot of fun and some serious adrenalin. I remember seeing Monster Garage and Jessie James taking out some crazy car out there.
It is a ridiculous drive to get out there. I'm in Vegas and Mapquest states 552.25 miles to Battle Mountain, NV
I think I'll pass on the 1,000 mile round trip plus the 132 miles race.
