E63 Tranny recall performed:codes inside

Since a lot of us have been having various issues with out 63's 7G transmission and some dealers have been giving us the run-around I will post up my service records from the updates that were installed yesterday.

Since my car has a later build date the new transmission valve body was installed at the factory, but it appears early build date cars(which have been discussed here before)will be recalled for this update, although according to my service manager no official bulletins have been sent to them as of yet.

They performed the exact same service updates I received to a CLS63 that had identical problems as mine:clunking from 2nd into 1st gear as you slow down to stop the car.As well as erratic shift points from 1st to 2nd while in sport mode.Mine shifted anywhere from 5800-6800rpm depending on what mood it was in.At other times the trans shifted so hard from 1st-2nd that it would chirp the tires&slam my head into the headrest.

I haven't had a chance to go out&screw around w the car as my schedule wont allow right now, but on the 30 mile ride home the car definitely felt better, and the shifts were crisp&consistent

Hope this helps those of you that have been having problems with their dealer

I did mine yesterday as well ...My campaign # 2007020004 as per VMI.

They claimed my car was running normal. How did you get all that detailed STAR info? Thats great stuff. Does the SA have access to it?

I will do exstensive testing today on PCH on my way to Santa Barbara with Wifey. I could be in for some interesting times as the Lamborghini owners are still upset over my stalking one last Friday.

My car felt the same , still when pushing in 1st gear it shifts out hard causing wheel spin and a head jerk! It does not happen everytime but it seems to be slowing the car a bit. what the hell is going on with the brakes on your ride?

The brakes just started squeeking this week, about 10' before the car stops. Also had a tiny bit of a front end shimmy when hard on the brakes as well.
So they are replacing the pads&rotors under warranty.Good thing as the price of the 2 rotors alone came to $2300,not including pads or labor

A brake job later as miles as up should be interesting as the rotors have to be replaced as they cannot be cut on the machine

Do you have a Vin breakdown for the cars? My car shifts good and at times lazy. I actually want it to bang hard into gears it feels more involving like the M5.

Let us know what this new update does etc.

How can we reset out tranny adaptations?

I just had one update done so it goes into 1st gear thats about it.

What dealer did you use in NY?

My car does not have the same symptoms, however the adaptive tranny requires frequent resets. It "learns" excessively. Wonder if a reflash will fix that?

Thanks for posting, great info.

That definitely works, also taking your service advisor and tech out to lunch. It helps them overlook certain things on your car.

I just came back from getting the TSB below done on my rear brakes as mine too started squeaking right after my 1000 mile mark. Too soon to tell if it works but on my drive home no sqeaking. Fingers crossed.

BREAK SQUEAL

219.377

MBUSA DTB P-B-42.10/76 JUL07

If rear brake squeal occurs your current pads will be replaced with revised pads part number A005 420 22 20 under warranty with no mileage limit.

That only shows that the problem was fixed via TCU flash, I can't see which flash or campaign number? Mine has same problem and is booked in Monday.
