E55 without the hp robbing flash???

How do I find a used E55 without the flash that robs horsepower?

If it has been done, how can it be undone?

Easy, go to the Stealer and put in the VIN and see what's been done to the car. You will see if they have flashed it.

The 03 and 04 had free servicing during warranty period, so count all them out, unless you find one with less than 10 K miles that never had a visit to the dealer for past two years. The flash has little effect on the 05 & 06.
Some say after the flash the car won't spin the tires, Some say no difference.

Yours been reflashed? Mine spun the tires from 25 mph roll, in our current 100 deg. weather with about 10 repeated 25 mph esp off burnouts to 70 mph runs on a dead I/C pump. I never did get the s/c to shut down so I gave up and the tires were done. I don't usually drive it this way, but was trying to set the codes for the dealer so they would definitely see the problem pump. I replaced the rear tires on the way to the dealer after giving up. So, it's in the dealer right now, since Monday, and I'll be pi$$ed if it doesn't have more power with the new pump. They did put a new one on and said it's an updated pump, we'll see if it actually is if ever I get the car back. I cannot believe they still have my car for a couple problems, I'm having visions of Ferris Bueller's day off.

They will eventually gain some traction, yes at around 70. The stories I have read state EPS off no wheel spin, hard to believe.
I have put off going to the dealer but will have to take it in for "G" service soon.
Let us know how your 55 runs when you get it back.

Mine is a 2005, it was done, and I can't tell any difference. It runs just fine.

Most of the flash issue was BS. I know numerous guys that have had the flash with no problems or power lose. This includes my car and I have track times to prove this. Most complaints do not have anything but guys saying that the car feels slower.

obviously the problem didn't affect all cars but c'mon dj...we've been through this. the problem has been well documented not only by OBVIOUS poor performance but by dyno runs, data logging, and 1/4mile times by enough people that nobody should still be claiming bs simply because their car was lucky enough to be unaffected.

I thought the conclusion to this whole mystery was that...

For stock cars, the flash made very little difference.

For modded cars, hp dropped. Then, after the car was reflashed by the tuner the hp would go back up to at least as good if not better than what it used to be.

no, but that was the arm chair conclusion many onlookers professed. those of us in the game know for a fact that bone stock cars were also definitely affected.
