Service D??
I've had my car a little over a year, and its has about 9000 miles on it. the car says I need a service D. Service A costs $150 and seems to be pretty much an oil change. Service D is $300, and pretty much is the same thing with the cabin air filter being changed.
Why wouldnt my first service be A? The advisor said that its based on time, but I was like WTF, its been about a year whats the deal? He said the car is going to ask for what it needs
Am I going to get screwed into $300??

I did my service D at 16K..... and right after service, FSS showed service A in 10K. Sometimes between then and now, FSS changed his mind It now shows another service D is due in the next 7K (I'm now at 19K).
Not sure why....

Service D
Hey,
You got lucky with 300. I just dropped my car at the dealer and it needed service d. They want 400 for that service but I guess I don't have a choice right.

forgot about my thread. I got off easy at $180. I think they just changed the oil and kicked the tires a bit.
Props to MB Laguna Niguel for not sticking it to me even though I signed off on the $300 quote.

Really, I haven't heard one thing that's really vital to any service except the oil and filter change. The cost to change the oil is a **** job as well. Is there anything?

My guy at MB said I don't need to change my oil until 10-12k miles. I thought WTF? I told him the longest I feel comfortable with is 5k. He said suit myself but it won't need it. Is this true? Also what do they cost? My car has 4k on it today...

Just called and got the same story. My car is a lease that will be turned in so I won't change it until I have to. In your case, people say that you are wasting resources to have it changed so soon.

The whole FSS+ system on the w211 is a disaster. There is no pattern to what service will come up. The biggest issue with these FSS+ vehicles is that a D service can be different from vehicle to vehicle. The service advisor can only tell you what the car really needs when they go into the service menu of the vehicle.
