So today marked my first loss.....

Since I like to come and post my time kills etc...today I suffered my first loss. We had local car meet of mostly porsches and had some spirited runs afterwards. Scenario: 85 degree Fahrenheit, 95octane, i do 3 runs to 130 as we get on the highway, 996GT3 pulls up next to me and wants to do a pull so we do 1 run to 145 with me 10+ cars at 140ish, I slow down and i could feel that i was already in "heat soak mode" as the end of 140 felt real soft....now onto the next Pcar.....i do 2 impromptu blasts with "my competition" until we can finally line up for a tru 3 honk....1st run 50 roll in second gear to 120, i pull and lift as he misses his 3-4 shift.....finally one more chance, this 2nd run was a nice clean run from a 50 roll, on my 3rd honk we were off and dead even...right at 125ish-130 he pulls one solid car and we lift at 140 (traffic)....if youve been following my car lately you know what happened technically per my IAT's on this run, besides all of that this was a clean run and I lost. The car is a Porsche 997TT Fabspeed headers, Tubi exhaust, Fabspeed intake, GIAC ECU......

Yes,he pulled one solid car...but c'mon, thats not what I call an exact KILL.Now if you both took off at say 40 or so and then all the sudden you cant even read the plate on the back of his car, then thats a solid kill.

lol joes pcar is the LAST pcar i would want to race in a roll on, he only has one car i can play with. Yes I lost Josh.... there is always someone faster, this isnt the dragstrip where I get the sticky tires and the "on boost" launch and my TQ is less of a factor, if you dont pull you dont pull and today I didnt have the HP, but i will be back VERY shortly

I can't wait to see the upgraded cooling mods!! I need them bad also. IAT is the killer of our engines.

Jay, how's your car from a dig on the street? Too much torque to launch it hard or can you rip it out of the hole?

Because the 911 Turbos have awd and launch like a motherf'er so I'm suprised they didn't want to run you from the dig (their advantage)...or did that happen already?

Goodluck getting your car fixed, its a mean machine and deserves lots of respect.

from a dig its a different race for a variety of reasons, now my TQ is more of a factor (can help and hurt) plus my IAT's wont soar as bad.
There is no real "launch" with street tires although i can get her moving fairly efficiently

probably a bit too much for the stock cooling system.. but you were able to put up a good fight.
