Phenolic Spacers, worth it?

As the title states.

I would like to enquire regarding the Phenolic Spacers.
  • Are they worth it?
  • Do they actually work?
  • Any drow backs?

Thanks

IMO, I would do this mod along with other cooling mods at the same time. I don't think doing this alone would make much of a noticeable difference.

No drawbacks for me

The spacers help keep intake manifolds from becoming heat soaked. When I designed them for evosport, I measured 20-30F drop in their temperature, which in the end helps intake temperatures to be more stable and less affected by driving conditions.

Zod, if you search on them, I think VRUS posted the details that you're after.

Hey Vadim:

First thing first, I REALLY RESPECT YOUR INFO, and thanks for all the wonderful help

My question here is, were those temp drops on the first run, or were they back to back to back runs showing this same decrease?
I only ask because once everything heats up, I do not beleive these spacers can do a thing, IMHO.
Its the engineer in me that says no. Sorry, its just a physics thing

Thanks a million for all the info my friend

See yeah

You need a combination of cooling mods to be able to feel the difference.

I replaced my IC pump w/ a Johnson pump along with phenolic spacers. Also flushed the coolant and added distilled water + water wetter.

The car definitely feels more consistant, but not good enough. My next cooling mod is going to be a larger heat exchanger for the IC.

The evosport phenolic spacers and Vrus spacers are not the same they install in different locations. The evosport spacers go under the intake tanks while the vrus spacers mount under the blower, separating the blower and the intake manifold from the head.

Do you have any of these two instaled and noticed drop in temps?
Am looking for a long turm solution and not just for one or two runs.
Thanks
