I have to believe that Jody's problem is ECU related. Nothing else makes sense. Even if he could have gotten a better launch, his trap speed is too low for his mods. I bet that if he didn't have the SLR cams, his car would have been quicker last night. Bet the combination of SLR cams and untuned/stock ECU is costing him big time.
There was a pretty good showing by the AMG crowd last night.

I ran a 12.134 @ 116.36 mph on a 1.886 60' time. I tripped the ESP and it pulled back a little too much at the launch. It also felt like the 2-3 shift was really sloooooooow. She has been babied around too much this summer. ![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)

No question your ECU is killing your power...
On an 04 I am not sure if there is a loadlimiter thats being tripped in either the ECU of the tranny - or both ...
I bet if you dyno your car your a/f would be off the charts past 3500rpm.

Spend an extra $600 and get a pair of drag radials to go along with the ECU. I would be willing to bet that your 60' time would be perfect.
Think about it....you want good numbers, so go all out.

I think, as others have said, he needs to get that ECU taken care of. Slapping on drag radials and running an 11.9 at 116 mph will be better than what he ran, but he is expecting much better.
Jody - let me know when you get your ECU back and we'll meet up at E-town again.

No doubt drag radials are in his future. But assuming he still has his factory rims, then maybe the cost is $600. If he has to go and buy some lightweight wheels for his drag radials, then it adds to the cost.

Agreed, that is why I said "along with the ECU".
The ECU is a must, but I also think he is like me and expecting his car to do well. I don't have much track experience, so I consider drag radials my handicap helper.

Next Thurs sounds good to me. There was a badass black C6 Z06 there last night. Black tails and headlights, black rims, tints, exhaust. License plate: BLKDVL. One of the meanest cars I've ever seen. Sounded like satan too.
About the DR's, some people like to run with regular tires because that's going to be their setup on the streets.

It's in the Mail fellas! Adam you should get it tomorrow at noon. You guys got your work cut out. Thank you all for the support, and this is a lesson learned. ECU is a must after 5k in tuning, lol!!
Stevebez, you hit the donkey on the nail, the car won't go past 3rd Gear on the dyno, somehow keeps downshifting to third.

2004 E55 AMG and 2003 C320 4Matic Miss my 993 Turbo above!!
MIG......
Here is a link for you to look at. Although it is for the Toyo RA1's which I run, they tested for max performance and cam up with roughly 25 PSI. That's where I had my best 60' so I think you may be ok with you tire set up.

Those are 17" tires which will run a less PSI than an 18in tire. I can tell you right now, that's too low PSI in the that tire. Look on Toyo's website or ask someone that races that is sponsored by them, it's much higher than 26psi.
