E-town results...Not happy!!!
I went to Englishtown yesterday along with a few other members, waited a long time to get a few runs in, but was worth it, got 3 passes...Here are my 2 best. it was NYC SRT8. Enzom, AMG Venom, and the newest member with the strong Dyno car...sorry can't seem to get your name right now
I just don't know what seems to be the problem...I could have swear I was going to hit the 11's at least 11.99999999999 but did not happen. I have the Toyo R888 tires ran them with 25PSI, in my last run i cooked the crap out of them, so i was able to bring the 60 footer down to 1.9, I think it may be the driver or I think it may be something wrong with my car.
in a nut shell best run was 12.20 at 115.... with a 60 footer of 1.9
second run 12.3....at 116 60 footer 2.0.....
Current list of mods is....
Kleeman Headers with downpipes
ASP pulley
SLR cams
Eisenman Exhaust
Large Heat exchanger
don't have a tune yet or throtle body, I did these runs because sending ECU out to get a tune tomorrow, just wanted to put a run in to compare when it comes back form Adam at Euro elites.
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP....
Sleeper X and myself will go dataloggin tonight...don't think it's IAT's, I have a massive Heat Exchanger that I just installed and that car pulls really hard upstairs...the MPH seems to be high, and it doesn't feel like it's heat soaked.
All the Pro's please chime in...where is Juicee when you need him...

I suppose with your mods your biggest prob is going to be getting the wheels to hook. The lack of an ECU tune also may hinder your mods.
Car is essentially doing what it would do stock. Your ECU needs a tune gto match the expected performance of the mods. You will definately crack 12 seconds and likely trap 120. I would imagine car should do 11.7@121.
Your atmosphere was excellent and only one degree seperated the runs. Barometer was the same on both.
There is .2-.3 just in your 60 ft time. The modded 55 is a biT** to get the wheels to stop spinning so your traps seem higher and ET is lower. Notice how your 12.2 had a better 60 ft and lower trap. To me this indicates more wheel spin on the run you trapped 116 and ran the 12.36 vs the 12.2 @ 115. So ECU tune will help the car respond better to mods , but it will not help your launch and 60 ft time.
Great run for comparison and it was very smart to do a pre tune run. Hopefully you can run post tune under similar conditions (weather) so we get a real comparison . After this we can work on the tires.

Maybe the ECU is not liking all the mods and it fighting against you? I have no idea why the low mph. What size Toyo's are you running? I know with my 18" RA1's the recommended PSI is a lot almost 40PSI for max grip. I thought the R888 were road racing tires as well, no? You should be running 38psi or more in the 18in tires. These are not street or drag tires with softer sidewalls. Lowering the PSI will actually hurt you because the center of the tire will buckle and you'll have less contact patch.

I keep telling myself this...It is a pain to grip the tires and quite honestly I had no clue what PSI to run so i dropped it to 25PSi i should have left it at 38PSI, these are R compound tires. In my best 60 footer the car did hook much better because I cooked them a bit. Thanks for your input.

15-20k in Mods!!
Wow! I would be pissed if I spent that much money on those mods and still ran those numbers. Another $2k can't hurt at this point.
Let us know who does your tuning, and the results. Good luck!!

Comparison for you.......
DJ, I think it is my ECU and or running low PSI in the tires, I have been running with my ECU untuned for about a year know, it is probably going crazy, lol specially now that I have the SLR cams and no tunnning I think it may be hurting the trap speeds and power. The ECU tune should help the mods work in harmony and sync everything up. We will see after we get the tune. Thanks for your input.
I just got an ECU tune and you can see the results for yourself:
Tuned NOT
ECU ECU
1/4 et 11.981 12.086 -0.1050
1/4 mph 117.07 114.91 2.1600
1/8 et 7.753 7.781 -0.0280
1/8 mph 91.88 90.23 1.6500
60' 1.852 1.78 0.0720
Da was the same for both runs different dates.
With an ECU tune you will get more boost which will even make it harder to nail down your launches. That is my current problem. I can't seem to improve my 60' times after my ECU tune. If I could get to 1.75 or so than I should run 11.8's. Anyways you can see my mods from my sig to compare. I go every week to the track so I will have more to share next week. Just waiting for my new supercharger to get installed.

Here are some passes that are comparable to yours for comparison:
XXXXX MINE YOURS MINE
14 et 12.256 12.36 12.277
1/4 mph 115.87 116.06 116.74
1/8 et 7.987 8.085 8.024
1/8 mph 90.98 90.76 91.01
60' 1.991 2.037 2.019
As you can see, pretty damn close. So with a better launch down to 1.85 or so you would break 12 seconds. The question that remains is what SHOULD you be running with your mods in comparison to what I have. With the pully and SLR cams you should be running better than mine and you will get there after your tuned ECU. With a 1.80 or so launch and ECU tune I am guessing 11.65-11.80 range....
Good luck and happy tracking.

I think we have reached a conlusion, the ECU tune is a must. I thought of just doing everything and leaving the tune for last, shame on me, I have learned my lesson. If that doesn't work we will see what a 100 shot does...J/k, I am planning all motor for now at least. lol!!
Thank you guys for all your input, at least i feel a bit better.

Man...you guys are making me itch to get to the track. It'll be my first time, but I've been practicing my launches in my office parking lot....
Rocket...I was going to bite the bullet on the Toyo R888's but the more I read about them the more I got the feeling they were more purposely built for auto cross rather than straight line drags. I ended up getting the Nitto drag radials (my second choice since the BFG's were on back order).
I agree with the other guys about the ECU tune, because you got a lot of extra stuff going on with your car and now your getting the cams...Your ECU must be holding back because its unsure of what is going on...
Good luck with it...we have a sickness !

I always get hammered for this, but I have seen it over and over. When I do the battery disconnect and the ECU fully resets. My car runs like it is running on nitro. Many say it gets stronger after a few hundred miles, but honestly I just don't drive that hard ALL THE TIME so I am sure the car sets me back up kinda wimpy.
Don't ever count out resetting those adaptations. Sneaky ECU to reset tranny and disconnect negative terminal for a hour or so.
Sorry you had some trouble bro. Post up the logging results so we can take a look at them.

Looks like I'm already beating a dead horse but its gotta be the ECU. Plus you can work on your 60' times. Once you get the ECU done, your gonna be running with the kings of NY lol.
