there are a few members her that got the wheel off ebay for 800 bucks and couldnt install them. 1 or 2 made the mods to get them to work but they were not easy to do!

E63's do not come with that Black Series Steering wheel and the black series steering wheel is smaller and cooler than the factory AMG steering wheel.
The black E63 and silver E63 have the black series steering wheel and obviously the CLK63 black series has one factory but we are doing more fun upgrades to that black series... I will post pics soon.
There is also a black E55 wagon in the picture behind the E63 and CLK63BS that the Black series steering wheel DOES fit in.
We did not purchase these off ebay. These are factory manufactured and purchased components

We all know that it fits, but the problem is will the controls and airbag work? Or is that all included with the install?? Also, $2,500 installed, does it include the airbag?

Tension mounts... If the black series steering wheel fits in the W211 I've got some happy hands But likewise, I've been told that it isn't a simple bolt-in and that it won't fit without modifications.
What gives?!

I put one on my 07 CLS63 Real nice wheel and a 10 minute install Great feel and response. You will need the air bag with wheel if older than 2007 but I have read that it will work.

C'mon Finny. You did a sterring wheel mod a while ago. Was it for one of these?
My recollection was that the mod was well beyond us DIY'ers. It was a semi-pro electronics upgrade.

Correct. My bad. The only issue is you have to get a new airbag. The distribution block on the older cars was part of the airbag. On the newer, its hardset in the wheel itself. Sorry for the confusion. Its easily done on the newer cars, just costs a bit more on the older due to the airbag.

Just want to clarify... The difference between the steering wheels are the following...
The old airbags mount differently; this is the reason why the updated airbag is required. As for any mods... there are none. The only difference is the old airbags have the plugs built into it. The new airbag uses a distribution block.
That simple...
I did test the wheel on the E55 wagon everything worked fine.
Feel free to ask any questions...
