E55/63 California speedway Results 9/21
also CLS 63,
What a great day we had
2 E63's
2 lightly modded 55's
1 CLS 63
JROCKET ran a personal best 11.7@118MPH in a DA of 2076. BFG's
several 1.7x 60 ft times.
Mbforever ran a personal best with the aid of a lightweight driver 12.593@111.43 on stock tires
gE63 ran a 12.8@109 on stock tires
Juicee63 12.65@112.34 Nitto drag rads
A modded 55 forgetting name of driver (its so late) sorry..Dam
E55 11.93@116, first sub 12 second pass of the day.
CLS 63 outran the E63 for most of the day, on the final race and my apologies Mbforever beat me by .0018. This was the closest race I have ever been in . Modded E55's did great and rand low 12 seconds to 11.7-9's all day @ 111-118 mph.
what a great learning experience everytime out.
The most interesting info was the E63's fastest times were run with TRACTION CONTROL ON!
Also Stock tires seem to net very close to what the cars did with the BFG, cept for JROCKET who was reeling off 1.7's like they were for sale at 1.7-11
It was 80 plus degrees, track is 1200 ft andbarometer was 29.92 with a 38-42degree dew point. DA ranged from 1579-2307.
since the 55's were modded , and obviously running much faster we did not line em up. I am very happy with the runs, you guys are fun to be around and worthy competitors. LOL...I loved racing the 150 lb ringer in the E63, haha. Amir, great stuff man.
Greg , the car was so consistant. 13.1@109....12.8, you ran great when you raced me , LOL. I am certain it is simply your driving style when not on the track that has your car running a tad slower. Seems all the 63's needed to WAKE up.
Muhammad,
Thank you so much for letting me run your car and driving ALL THE WAY DOWN , from Bakersfeild. Your car is on pace to break the 12.41 (ECU tuned) run. we should easily have you at 115 in Sacramento . I prdict your car will go 12.3@115 in a DA of 750 or less.
Johnny,
Man you taught us all alot, we appreciated all your help with the cars and I liked my burger LOL.
You are a great driver and your car was very impressive, Man you set the bar in so Cal pretty high!! Great run and CONGRATS on your new personal best time 11.7@118!!!!
I will post the crappy vid I have of some of the runs .
Great job guys, Our cars earned some respect today, the SRT, and the M5's certainly got a taste. The Modded SRT's gave me all kinds of probs2 Irwindale , not anymore. Also The M5 ran a best 13.2@112.
In the 1/4 mile the 55/63 is faster than the M5, almost always. Good traps though. The M5 simply cannot launch.
In summary
Best ET JROCKET 11.7
Best Trap 118
Best 60 ft.....JROCKET
Best Et 63 12.59(Mbforever)
Best 63 trap 112.34(juicee)

I didn't know about this event!
I was there last year in September... and looks like the track was a bit better this time since trap speeds are a bit higher than last year.
Last year only Josh Dragon AMG dip into the 11's..
and the M5's performed the same last year and this year. Great trap speeds.

Juicee,
Thanks for the kind words. That was a great day at the track, and also a good time with really good people! Juicee kept things fun with some 63 vs 63 vs 55 smack talking and alot of joking around. The first few runs of the day were not the best and the looks on all of our faces showed it,but then the we got the starts dialed in a bit more and the suprise of all time showed up.....juicee had 8, 40lb bags of crushed ice dropped off for everyone to use.I didnt think we would need it, cause the weather called for cold temps and rain,I was wrong there. The temps got warm and so did the cars.I got a nice sun burn and I think the bakersfield boys got cooked! LOL Everytime I looked over people were rubbing the ice over the backs of their necks. LOL So big thanks to Juicee for the much needed ice.
After we made a few passes the times started to come down,Juicee busted off his first pass of the day with a 12:8 and the rest of the 63 soon followed with 12 sec runs. The 63's were out running the M5's that day.One of the M5's had an exhaust but didnt show any improvements over the other stocker.I'll be honest and say the drivers might of had alot to do with their et's,but their trap speeds were way low.Either way the 63's out ran them and the smiles and friendly nods from the M camp towards us didnt last very long.
The track had a wide assortment of cars, around 80 total I think, and it seemed 95% of them were modded. Some of the 300z's were running very low 11's back to back runs too.A few C5' vettes both reg and Zo6's were running very low 11's at 125-135 traps.A large amount of modded stangs running from 12:5's to 10:9's.A few went mid 9's and one in the mid 8's.There was a newer body style turbo stang that ran 9:7's at almost 180.There was 3 or so jeep srt8's out there, one of them being a member from this board(stgstanko).Who I got to talk to for a lengthy amount of time and is really a down to earth nice guy,as were the rest of the group from this board.
All in all, some very nice cars and the MB's turned ALOT of heads out there. Many people came over and asked alot of questions about the CLS63 and the E63. 4 shiney black 63's made a showing at the track that day for sure.

Jrocket.......Nice run to get 11.7X
What do you have for mods to get that. Incredible launches. What was the 60' 1.7X
I want to compare to my runs since we seem close in ET and traps. I should be right at 11.7X when I get my launches down from 1.85 to 1.7X.
Congrats on your personal best,

Josh, Greg and Johnny Rocket, it was great meeting you guys yesterday, I had lots of fun. I learned a lot about the cars and enjoyed every minute of it; especially the FREE pizza part...... ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Special thanks to Josh for bringing an ice truck to the track and letting everybody use it. That was very cool.....
and without it, we never would've ran our best times
and your car runs very freakin strong man..... What are you doing to it? When all 63 were starting out with 13.2 to 13.4, your car was running 12.8. You never had a 13 second run? I think throughout the whole day, your slowest was 12.9 or 12.8![bow](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/bowdown.gif)
The modded E55 belongs to Shawn. He does not post on the forums much. His car is Stage 1 (pulley + chip) and of course drag radials. If he would've stayed longer, I'm sure he could've gotten an 11.8 or 11.7 run, but he had to leave early. It was an awsome run though, he got that time when everybody else was running their slowest times.
Don't worry, that will change soon.... ![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Ditto.... you need to drive it hard, harder, and even harder ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
Oh no.... I want 12.4 BONE STOCK. By the way, my car was 100% stock: stock wheels/tires, 91 octane gas, charcoal filters untouched (yet anyways
), stock ECU, and even stock license plate frame...![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
After I get 12.4 stock, then I will upgrade to pilot sport 2, remove charcoal filters, 93 octane, remove spare, and add RennTech ECU, then maybe aim for 12.0 to 12.2![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
By the way, in my 12.85 second pass, I got really close to Amir's 60' time........ I got a 1.96

The track surface was just perfect for the day.The car never got loose off the line. Most were in the 1.75's and a hand full of 1.70's. tried every trick I knew to get a 1.6 and it just wouldnt do it.Track was just too sticky.

Okay Juicee, here is my time slip for the 12.593 second pass. When I used NHRA table at 1200 ft elevation, it gave me a 0.9874 correction factor, which calculates to 12.434 @ 112.87 but I want to see your full DA calculations.
Also, correct my personal run; here it is typed for now, and I'll scan it later:
60': 2.032
330: 5.507
1/8: 8.354 @ 86.93
1/4: 12.836 @ 109.98
Also note that my car's highest trap (112.32) was on the 12.60 run not the 12.59 run.
By the way, is that 12.59 second pass the fastest uncorrected stock time for an E63 yet?

Don't worry, that will change soon....![naughty](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/naughty.gif)
Ditto.... you need to drive it hard, harder, and even harder![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
Oh no.... I want 12.4 BONE STOCK. By the way, my car was 100% stock: stock wheels/tires, 91 octane gas, charcoal filters untouched (yet anyways
), stock ECU, and even stock license plate frame...![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
After I get 12.4 stock, then I will upgrade to pilot sport 2, remove charcoal filters, 93 octane, remove spare, and RennTech ECU, then maybe aim for 12.0 to 12.2![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
By the way, in my 12.85 second pass, I got really close to Amir's 60' time........ I got a 1.96

I want you to know you BEAT ME by .0018 in our head up race
![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
LOL.My car likely was trapping higher due to the 93 octane.
You likely will never see a MOV that close .0018
and Jrocket would have destroyed any of the 63 in a heads up, well unless he tried one of his new tricks LOL..The guy is super cool and does his own WRENCHING!!!! wish I could say that.
I think we are really getting a baseline number and the 63 seems to be improving each time out. I owe ALL of this fun to members here that got me hooked. October @ MIR will likely keep raising the bar.
Oh yeah so as far as correction,
I will say I am confident more than ever that a stock 63 will run a 12.2@115 before the end of the year
We all learned the value of the cool down. all our best runs were after allowing engines to "chill"
THANKS GUYS...

JRocket, I had sun burns all over my face and neck. It was freakin hot.... I usually don't stay under direct sun light that long. But I still had a lot of fun yesterday, we have to do it again soon..... ![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)

I have your timeslips because your car was running me on each of your best runs cept for the 112.32 trap. My car did a 112.35, LOL....close.
Your uncorrected time is the fastest pass in the West, it is not as fast as Zax63 who achieved a 12.46 pass just a few weeks ago. Tommy 12.41 @114 was achieved in California but with a tuned ECU.
Your corrected time is #1
Time recorded 2:53 PM
Temperature °F 75.9
Dew Point °F 43.0
Altimeter Setting 29.83 Inches Mercury
Absolute Pressure: 28.93 Inches
Density Altitude: 2365.5 feet
Track Elelvation: 1150 feet
UnCorrected ET:
12.593 (sec) @ 111.43 (MPH)
Corrected ET to Sea Level:
12.244 (sec) @ 114.686 (MPH)
Hey scan the slip of our race I misplaced the slip, its a real amazing run and I need it recorded..On your personal best run Temp was down a few degrees and DA had dropped by 400 ft. Your time corrects down to about what Amir got your car to actually run. whats really interesting I was racing your car when it did a 12.59, on this race I did win but recorded a 12.80, all due to reaction time amir spotted me .5. On the run where we were close you were correct , you bested me on the start and that is why you beat me by .0018. Scan the slip of that race, I was car 8193.
UnCorrected ET:
12.83 (sec) @ 109.98 (MPH)
Corrected ET to Sea Level:
12.523 (sec) @ 112.74 (MPH)

It was nice to see some nice benz's at the track. I was there with my 300Z and raced one of you guys with an E63 on one of my runs. Very nice cars would love to own one. Next time I'll try to stop by and say hello.

They turned the direction around so the headwind is now tailwind.
They were also spraying VHT at least down to the 60' mark. You could hear people's shoes sticking to the ground there. Personally I pulled my best 60' of 1.53 with my manual transmission car, and the car was even spinning tires out the hole. Probably the best prepped track I've ever raced at. Do not miss the next event I think the registration starts on monday.

I didn't know about this event!
I was there last year in September... and looks like the track was a bit better this time since trap speeds are a bit higher than last year.
Last year only Josh Dragon AMG dip into the 11's..
and the M5's performed the same last year and this year. Great trap speeds.

Towards the end of the day I was behind you in the water box when you made a pass.Your car gets violent off the line,no doubt.I could of swore it pulled the left front wheel off the ground!
