CPO Warranty Extension

I have a CPO '03 that included service in warranty period. Question is, does the inclusive service continue in the CPO 1 year/100,00 mile warranty extension?

No. CPO warranty extends the warranty only, not free service.

You would think the stealer would mention that during the CPO sales pitch. Thanks for the info!

You should've seen them mumble and stumble their way through free service COMPLETELY going away starting on the '05's.

They should consider it again, BMW has it and they are marketing it nicely. It would be a huge cost for MB to "swallow".

I would imagine the dealerships were the catalyists to get rid of the program. The dealerships, IMHO, couldn't mark-up the parts and labor to get the profit they wanted and were held to a standard well below the normal rates charged to customers. Not to mention, the increase, after getting rid of the program, to Mercedes' bottom line was significant since they didn't have to pay for the dealership for routine maintenance. I'm sure the increased profitability for the dealerships and Mercedes corporate was staggering and couldn't be ignored.

I feel most corporations look to the bottom line and forget how they got there: customers. Who's to blame? Modern CEO's playing the short term strategy for only increased profitability shoulders the most blame.

The average CEO's lifespan for mega corporations is becoming shorter and shorter and their golden parachute is becoming the most important thing in their life. How do you get the golden parachute to the greatest amount in the shortest time? It's relying only on short term strategy that screws the long term viability of a corporation. Customer's and low level employees are often the forgotten ones with these short term CEO's.

Do you really think that Mercedes truly cares about their customers? Maybe they do and maybe they don't but I think they totally lost sight of this over the last 10+ years. It was obvious they cared more about their bottom line and too often lost sight that the customer is the sole reason they are in business. Focusing only on the bottom line is a sure fire way to ruin a good company. I'm not saying they are a lost because I see real signs of them trying to turn the tide but they were heading down the wrong path for a while.
