Want to know how easy this service is to transfer and take over a car. Liability and any other constraints I should be aware of.
I have my eye on a 997TT and want to list my E63

The only way to be sure you are out of the E63 lease is to have MB Financial appove the transfer. Anything short of that will cause you to remain liable. Here is the website, seems like they are just a facillatator and will find someone to assume your lease. http://www.swapalease.com/
What are your monthly payments? There have been some here looking for a decent payment.

I used swapalease.com for our Z4 as we wanted to see if we could still have a little roadster now that we were parents.
It was very easy as they only facilitate the transfer, you and your prospective lease assumer/provider will have to take care of the mechanics.
However, be wary of out of state transfers as certainly states, such as NJ where I live, will demand that all the remaining sales tax from the remaining monthly payments be paid up front at time of transfer if the car is going out of state. Luckily, I found the car within NJ so that was not an issue. There are 7 states in all that requires the payment of sales taxes - will need to do your homework on that one.
Otherwise, most manufacturers' financing arms have reasonable transfer terms and service charges from the terms I found during the search.

i found their service to be very unreliable w/ all the filtering and delays...most information on there were either not legit or were stale by the time i searched it. there's certainly a need for this type of service, but from my experience this company's solution is not it.

Its real simple with these services.. You have to have a lease that is competitive for both the buyer and seller...
If you have an E63, with a payment of $1,600-$1,700. You'll never get out of it... If you have an E63 with a lease payment of $999, you'll have people fighting over the car. the services work well, but most people are hammered in their leases, so they just sit on the site..
MOST banks DO allow non-contingent transfers.. Meaning you have NO liability once the lease is transferred.. It will show on your credit report as account closed, in good standing. Just as if it were paid off...
I did a lease transfer on my last E55, ans went smoth as silk, and sold quickly. But the payment was $895/mo., and had plenty of miles left.. So, it was by far, the cheapest on the site..
the other E55's with $1300-up payments, just sit..

My E55 has been listed on swapalease.com since July. Patience is key when you are going to list your car there. It can be frustrating to see your car sitting there for a while, but I knew it would take time to find the right buyer anyways. I have put up a pretty large cash incentive for the buyer to pocket, or to create an "effective" monthly payment under $1100 for the remaining 13-14 months of the lease. There is also approximately 1300 miles a month left to be driven, a helluva lot more than most listings on there. I am also willing to pay all buyer's fees to assume my lease. Serious health problems are forcing me to go this route. I know I am taking a big hit doing this, I have no alternative at this point in time. Return to dealer = massive rape for me in this situation.

My payments are low and the car has lots of extras, they charge 399 and up to list on Swapalease thats why i asked about this, its a serious investment up to $1500 for the listing they told me. I tried using the service as a buyer but it was hard finding a car local in the tri state in the color i wanted. I did view 3 cars back in 2003 all were crash reported and one had the clock turned back, all AMG 55's
Would Ebay be an alternative?
Drove the 997 TT again today I am so crazy about this car, metalic gray with terracotta full leather with full carbon fiber.

Swapalease tries to sell you all kinds of extras for your ad (bold print, banners, placing your ad at the top of the page, etc. That's where they make their money. I was also quoted crazy prices, but you can keep it on the cheap with them by doing a basic ad and a few pictures for $100 +/-.
I want to get rid of the car, it's not gonna kill me to keep making the E55 payments, but it sure hurts. I'd rather not have it at this point in my life. I would suffer a lot less financially without the beast in my garage but hey, it's only money. Sucks to be me.
