2004 E55 price using 2000 M5 as trade?
Local dealer here in Oregon has a CPO 2004 E55 with 23,000 miles on the odometer. They're asking 61K, which seems a bit steep. I own a very well maintained 2000 M5 with 77K on the dial. If I used the M5 as a trade, would my car + $30K be a good deal or should I try for lower? I've always liked the E55 and if I can handle the way the automatic acts, I may switch to it as a nice interim ride until the C63 or 4 door M3 shows up.
Also, for iPod connectivity, is an AUX input provided on the standard E55 entertainment system or is there another option?

E55
I have an 05 for less than that one.
What ever you do,make sure you have plenty of warranty left on an E55 before purcahsing it.Repairs can be costly.

$61k for a 2004 E55 is much too high.
However, if they are giving you a $31k trade allowance on your M5, then the deal is not that bad. 2000 M5's are now going for well under $20k, albeit with slightly higher miles than yours. I would guess the true trade-in value for your M5 is $18k max.

The math gets fuzzy pretty quick when trade ins are involved but I figure my car is worth at least $20K in trade (given the miles and condition) and they are at least $8K high on their price. So I think a $30K delta would be where' I'd consider pulling the trigger on a deal. I haven't talked with them yet and have no idea how Mercedes of Wilsonville is to work with. Here's a link to the E55 in question, BTW:

What color is your M5? I had two e39s and miss them a lot.
Good luck negotiating your deal.

I miss my Dinan S2 E39 also, I do not miss the nickle and diming of the small things that always seemed to pop up though!
I think $30k and your M5 is a fair deal for both parties

It's Titanium silver, which I've discovered after living 8 years in Oregon is the easiest color to keep clean, and it's raining like a **** right now. If the weather clears, I'll take the E55 for a test drive this weekend. I may also consider a 335i if I can't get the Merc. dealer to move on the price. Prices in Portland are a bit whack because it's a small market (only 2 Mercedes dealers, only 1 Audi dealer) and there isn't much of a supply for cars like the E55.
