Really loud tires.

My front Conti's are about half way through the tread life and are getting very loud with growling noises. I've inspected them closely and they appear to be wearing evenly with no cupping.

What's up with this?

Is this normal with these tires?

Not sure on what your tires are doing, but most here dont care for the Contis.Mine wore very fast and would get flat spots from the car sitting a week at a time.Poor traction and some added noise when they got older, higher miles. Some have even had them replaced under warranty due to vibration or other reasons.

I've heard many complaints about the OEM Conti's making too much noise. Seems likely you are in the group. Does the noise change on different surfaces? If yes, then it's probably the tires.

Great excuse to ditch um.

Not sure if anything better than PS2's has come along. If not, the classic is still the best. On with the PS2's I say.

I just turned 12k on my amg and these tires keep getting louder and louder for me as well. Pretty annoying at highway speeds

I got a little over 10K out of the rears without a big increase in noise, fronts are still OK. They did the exact same thing on my E430 and I swore I had a wheel bearing going bad. Replaced them with F1-GSD3's and they were great, noise and tramlining were BOTH gone. Time for better rubber.

as many know, i'm a fan of the toyo proxes t1r's. the michelin ps2's are a huge improvement over contis and much quiter but but the t1r's are almost half the price of the michelins, just as good, and even quiter. no brainer imho.

A friend of mine also swears by the T1R's, although he uses them on a 997S.
How many miles have you already put on them and do you think they wear fast?

i put 15k miles on mine with 3 drag strip sessions that probably took 1k miles off the life during each session. i replaced them recently due to pothole damage but the rears still weren't quite down to the wear bars and the fronts were only half worn so i think they wear exceptionally well.

This is my tire

Firelli Pzero rosso mo 255/40 zr 18 (99y)

I have no clue with tires, but i just doted down what my front ones had writen on them. So can some one tell me how bad they are
as when driving on bad roads they are not great

i am thinking of upgrading to PS'2 also bu they are pricey!

Thanks
khalid

+1 on the T1R's.

20k with 2 dragstrip sessions, rears 2mm from wear bars.

Pzeros are pretty good from a traction standpoint, but they do wear quickly.

I think you will be much happier with the PS2s

Many thanks for the multiple responses!

This board never disapoints.

Conti's will be replaced with the PS2s as soon as possible.
