I paid the deposit, and the track is ours for December 5th.
We are fully booked at this point, and we already have people on a reserve list. I have counted the following people among the 15 CAR limit:
9 from this board:
Me
Mig55rocket
SleeperX
Areuv
05Venom
Taximan1
GaDavAMG
Italian Stallion
Mert93
We have 4 guys from M5Board:
Bonehead
multiowner
ajcut
LI-M5
And I have two expected friends from Corvette Forum:
RobZ
DrRon
I have had to limit it to members only. Sorry guys, no room for friends.
Next month, I will PM everyone with an address to send your checks for $150. If people don't get me a check, I will open up a slot for others.
If we get to the track and the top end feels a bit loose, we will have them spray the top end (beyond the 330'). It will probably cost another $20. I chose not to have them do it to keep the cost at $150, and because we may not need it.
I promise I will do this again next March. I didn't realize how popular it would be.

Let me know if anyone backs out, or if you will consider allowing a good friend of mine....FYI, its a 9.90ET Viper GTS. With a tick over 1000 HP...

CLK63 Black, E350 Wagon, Supercharged Denali, Lotus Elise, Tesla Model 3 Dual-Motor.
I really like to attend also.
I would even bring my CLK63 Black out for this.

Bring it out in March when we do another rental.
Funny - when I first posted this, it didn't seem like we'd have enough for a rental. Now I am getting messages from everyone about coming. I really wish I knew that there was this much interest. I would have booked a date in November and December.
BTW - Anyone can come watch.

Later this week, I will PM those that were the first to commit and ask you to send me a check for $150. I will hold the check until the event. If it gets rained out, then I will send you back your checks (or tear them up, your choice).
Whoever does not get me a check within a reasonable time will give up their spot for someone else.
Once I have your check, you are in.
For those who are on stand-by, sit tight.

OK - PM's are going to go out in the next day or so with my payment information.
I'd ask that all participants send me a PM with their real name and cell phone number, together with an e-mail address that works best for them. I want to be able to check off names, and that's hard to do if I can't match the screen name to the name on the check.
I want cell phone numbers and e-mails just in case I need to get in touch with any of you.
Some rules to remember:
At the track, you won't find food or drink, so bring something to eat and drink. People usually bring extra "stuff", so if you forget, you won't die.
If you have a helmet, don't forget to bring it. There are no helmet rentals. There are usually enough to go around when I go to a rental. But this is a different sort of rental, and I bet many of the attendees don't own helmets. The Englishtown speedshop sells them for about $120. A bargain.
Make sure you show up with at least a 1/2 tank of gas. The gas station at the track doesn't open until 11, and they had no unleaded gas on Monday. Pick up some gas on the highway (rt. 206). The nearest gas station is about 3 miles away from the track (a Getty) and only sells 92 octane.
Bring a quart of Mobil 1 and a funnel. You will burn some oil there when you run 25 runs.
At the suggestion of 05Venom, I bought some special "shoe polish" specifically designed for racers to write an ID number on your windows. If anyone else has some, bring it. Shoe polish is a ***** to wipe off. This stuff wipes off dry. (Thanks, Venom)
Take it easy for the first few runs. The track will be cold, and traction will not be optimal. We should all make some easy passes to put some heat into the track.
Be smart. Racing is fun, but it can also be dangerous. I'm happy to reserve the track for all of us who want to go but (here's the lawyer in me), I am not responsible for you, your car or your azz - you're racing at your own risk.
We'll have a blast.

OK - PM's have gone to all of those who indicated that they wanted to come. If you have not already done so, please PM me back with your real name, and a preferred e-mail and telephone number in case I need to reach you. That number should be one where I can call you the morning of the 5th to give you a status report if necessary.

Still waiting to hear back from a number of members. Snap out of the pre-holiday comas.
This is going to be an awesome rental. If I am still chasing people for info and checks next week, I am going to clear slots and post on the vette boards. Don't miss out.
Happy Thanksgiving.

OK guys - I was not in my office today, so I don't know if I received any more checks. With the exception of those who work near my office (who I will meet up with soon to get their checks), I need all the checks in my office by THIS FRIDAY - that means they have to go in the mail tomorrow at the latest. As of yesterday, I received checks from less than half of those who have indicated that they were coming.
I need to have 15 committed cars (and 14 deposits). I have a number of people who are trying to get in, and I don't want to wind up being one or two cars short and having to have all of us pony up more dough to make up the difference. I need to tell these people that they are in or out by Friday so that they can make whatever arrangements they need to make at work. Atco is expecting a check for $1,500 based on 15 cars.
If you know that you are not coming, PM me to let me know. If you mailed in your check and I have not yet advised you that it was received, PM me as well.
Thanks.
