Victor ... if I can suggest something - try and get the main pulley casing treated with some anti rust stuff ... the outer ring looks like an ally alloy so that should be fine.... The ASP is prone to rust up pretty bad - it seems when they mod the OEM pulley they strip off its protective coating.

On your fitting tool that is supplied will this also allow you to get the stock / OEM pulley off the car?

Good thinking.. I'll make sure that is taken care of.. I believe it is already coated, but I'll double check.

Thanks Phil!! The pullies are built and ready.. We have been waiting for the specialty tool to be made.. Once those are done, everything will ship over here.

What benefit is it to need a 'special' tool to install / remove the pulley?

Cannot be done without one. Stock one requires an MB special tool. Vic's one will supply his own tool for his pulley ... pretty handy ... but would be even better if the tool worked on both the stock and Vic's pulley.

Creative didn't use the proper tools when replacing mine and the crankshaft was ruined. Coincidence?

Like others have said, removing the crank pulley requires a special MB tool to be done properly.. Some shops try to loosen the crank bolt by rigging up a pry bar and using regular garage tools to hold the crank still while trying to break the bolt.. this will only lead to damage.

Since our pulley is completely custom made, we had a special tool made to help in installation/removal. The tool will be bundled with each pulley so you have everything you need to do the job.

Understood, had no idea about the tool needed either way and potential damage. Thanks.

*** THE PULLIES ARE SHIPPED!! ***

10 sets are going to the California office.
10 sets are coming to me in Canada.

We made 2 different versions because I chose Red as an identifying colour for VRP products..

I posted the pic of the black one last time so here are a couple of shots of the Red one.

The long metal rusted handle with round ring is the prototype installation tool we created.. Dont worry, the one that comes in the kit wont have rust.. LOL..

Please let me know what you guys think about the red.. I think it looks hot and that is the one that is going in my car.. LOL..

Pretty Work!!
The red is hot hot hot!
Victor is this fluid dampened?
As far as the mass, what is the weight difference from stock?
One last question, I believe the 113 is internally balanced with this in mind
the new pulley/dampener/harmonic balancer must be balanced statically and dynamically, who dose this? and to what tolerance?
Damn I like that RED! Maybe I can pass it off as a Christmas ornament, Ho Ho Ho.

Red looks good, but I prefer the black one to keep the factory look. I want it when can I pay for one?

Its not fluid dampened.. its an elastometric bonding technology.. I'll get a data sheet on all the technical details and post it for you guys.

There is a group buy price that I am putting together to help launch the new product.. it is currently residing inside the 178mm pulley thread..

There are 6 guys on the list.. Add your name as #7 and we'll take care of payment arrangements as soon as the pullies land in California.

shear strength???

The red pulley looks great! Being a non-engineer, I'm wondering how the bolt system can possibly have the same lateral shear strength as as welded metal or a solid one piece hub? I assume the serpentine belt would slip long before there's any chance of this coming apart under hard use, but how does the strength of the design compare with the more ordinary designs? Any chance the twisting of the crank would lead to eventual failure of the attaching system? Or is it even stronger than conventional designs?

I am not an engineer also so I cant comment on the design.. The company that makes them does nothing but make balancers so I am sure their engineers know what they are doing...

I have asked for some of the technical data and details and will post for you guys.. I wish I could answer these questions, but they are over my head to be honest. I will find out for you though.

Thanks !!

The red looks great! I for one like the stealth look though.I dont like any more attention that what I need at the dealer or at the races...lol

If I was a buyer,I would rather have a factory black colored one.

Looks like some current pulley owners like the looks of this one better (so do I). However, I will put up with (lol) "welds" in an ASP pulley.

Let me know who wants to sell their used one!

Im perfectly ok with my crappy welded pulley..lol I never see it anyway. Now if ASP starts making steering wheels, well then we might have a problem there.
