Start in the audio menu then go to AUX. I say this b/c if you are in radio mode it starts to change presets. There are no presets in AUX! While in AUX press 3...5...7. If this doesn't work, try variations of 357 by holding 5 first while pressing 3,7 second, etc... I guarantee you it works eventually. You must have patience grasshopper! It will work. Once there you should see different menu optons for various countries!

Except for the fact that he may not be able to read them as stated in his first post.
Why is there the assumption that it will be displayed in a language readable to him?

'He' has a Japanese car and writes in 'broken' English so I assumed 'he' spoke a non-english language. Perhaps they could clarify where they are and what language they speak so somebody can help a bit more.
Perhaps he/she could ask a friend to decipher the text.
The 3-5-7 method does take patience as stated above.

Looks different.... for example look at the selection buttons on the left... VERY different layout than a US or EURO command.... MUTE and TV and diffferent eject buttons on the bottom.
So probably a very different software base... and maybe there isn't an Engineers menu on these models.... who knows...?

I think the Hardware is VERY different too...
Look there's no "slot" above the display for a single CD/DVD to go.... and I guess the bottom row button labelled MD is for a mini-disc?
I don't think this is anything like we are used to in the US (or Europe).

UHI connection
Hi
I have the same problem I purchased a Bluetooth Music Receiver that plugs directly into the UHI port in the centre console.
I have 2005 CLS350 63000 km but this is a model from Japan I am now discovering that there may be no aux command available to turn on the UHI connection I still have a couple of things left to try (thanks to this thread) but I'm running out of options...
Does anyone have any advise so I can play music and my use my phone with bluetooth?

Have a look at the one that connects instead of cd changer. Full Bluetooth function with steering wheel controls.
