while there's plenty of flow from the cm30, imho it's likely not going to push those flow rates in our systems...even with a bar/plate style heat exchanger.

Is this thread going to turn into the "Group Buy" thread?
Or do we wait to see the vrus and code3 side by side?

I could be wrong but the SLR coolers retail for $7K each.
Be nice to see an after market equivalent for $5k a pair
Russ, Brandon do you think it could be done.

I have measured the flow rate through my C32 system with my heat exchanger. One side was emptied into a gallon jug, while someone else was refilling the tank (I had the system separated at the time). We measured more than 5 gallons in 60 seconds. That is 18.9lpm+. This was using the CM30 pump. It could have been more even as I was swapping jugs in and not always getting all the water lol. It was very scientific

I will start a new thread soon. As far as seeing them side by side, I think most of the information is available between this thread and his sale thread for someone to make a decision.

SLR coolers. Well I have seen the pictures, and certainly think they are feasible. I think I will give Victor a call on that one and see what we can come up with

Brandon, we can find a weekend to do this. Swap back to my stockers and get some numbers.

Just an update as I have many people asking what is going on.

I am waiting on all of the oil brackets from Mercedes. Because of the large order, they had to source them from numerous places.

Tomorrow morning we are going to do some more datalogging. We are swapping the stock HE back on for some data. Then we are putting the Code3 Performance HE back on, along with the Johnson pump for additional data. This will give everyone some good solid data to compare.

There was some confusion as to the retail price of our heat exchanger. The price listed on our website was not the retail price, and was meant to be a sale price. I did not realize that it did not say that. Because of the confusion, I will still be listing the units with a small discount from that $699 price, and offer free shipping for a limited time.

All sounds good. When can we expect to get the units?

Swapped back to the stockers and did some datalogging... Numbers wont lie. I'll let Brandon post them. All I got to say is now I know why everyone say a cooling upgrade is a MUST for pulley'ed owners, especially the ASP.

Here are some photos I took after we swapped back to the Code3 unit. Again, please remember that my unit is the PROTOTYPE with custom mounting brackets. The production ones will have OEM direct bolt-on brackets.

Dyno, is this what you were asking for? The right side of the HE?

I drove my car for close to 9 months with ASP pulley and stock IC... I was missing out on all the fun....

and probably was performing worst than stock.

I can already see the ITA's spiking to 170 to 180 all the time..

For sure.
The first initial run with the stock HE, the ITA spiked up to ~230F... and that time I didn't even get to go pass 100mph due to traffic.

Ok, here is the data. Thanks to Mark for spending a long day putting up with me

We swapped back to the stock heat exchanger for the sake of data. I am sure there are numbers floating around somewhere, but we really wanted to get some numbers on the same car, same mods, similar conditions. For comparison to the other graph, I posted it below. Stock pump was used for both tests.

The outside temperature was 65°
The two runs were 3 minutes apart again.
First run to 112mph (sorry, traffic), second run to 119mph.
IATs spiked to 181° on the first run (112mph), and settled to 140° in three minutes.
IATs spiked to 230° (119mph) on second run.

Before we started the first run, we drove until everything was warmed up, and we could get a baseline IAT number. The stock heat exchanger kept IATs around 30° above ambient during normal driving.

I will post our ad this afternoon, and update the website pricing.

sounds abnormally high relative to ambient, did the supercharger disengage on this run?

am I reading it right, or is it a 50 degree change in temperature when the car is just cruising between the stock and code 3?

ASP pullies run hot!

its those 110+ runs ....

the difference between stock and bigger FMIC on those pulls is the key.

Also notice how long it takes to cool down compared to the Code3 unit.

With a slightly better pump and better water mixture + water wetter would be see a slight improvement over the stock pump/coolant set up.

with a stock pulley.. the difference won't be as much, but definately would see the ECU pulling back as well.

thanks Brandon!

Thanks .. and sorry for late reply but was busy with all that pulleys

but, did you take them by phone ?

See where is the question mark in Evo add on application: in Code3 replacement application, therefore that blaack plastic and adiacent stock He no more exist. right?

No, I took them with my Sony T9
Yup. The code3 REPLACES the stock HE. No more stockers.

mmh, .. not in all.
seems to me that till end of 1st pull it was that better
but it's strange that after 2nd pull it was not good the same
Temp didn't lower that much even after enough time and low speed

in any case, results seem good

for BRANDON:
btw: - pulls were on same gear?
it's a pity that test wasn't made trying to keep same comparable speed
.. we could avoid one parameter and overlay curves on a single graph

now I'll do some copy and save for memory

ps: I'm having the idea that outside temp in LA is ... close to Sahara please, how much it normally is in spring and summer ?
