Cant blame te ASP for that. We want max boost, right?...

and if you want to take on a real challenge.. say E60 M5 don't try multiple pulls.. you will start loosing ground fast.
that is one reason.. I took it easy when I was on my OEM pump.. I could feel loosing power during hot days.
IC pump helped..
IC HE is even better.
for IC HE and pump you are talking around $1k with install at this point. Prices are coming down.

ok as the topic is moving from pulles to cooling...
from what i have seen there seems to be three types of HE custome designs out there.
now which of these designs is better for hot coutries...
and compatible with an 06

Kleemann pulley has been no problem in my '06. 6K+ miles and zero belt problems. It also is an add on to the stock pulley although Kleemann pins rather than welds the outer ring on. Not cheap, but very good workmanship.

Does all your ASP pullies have uneven cuts on the side of it? Not the welding, but they looked like small parts have been chipped off on the side of the pulley where the welds are.
Mine looked like that and I thought its because they had to shave some areas for the balancing??

The one you got from me was pretty much the same looking as the first one they sent me. Welds sure are ugly eh? That's what I thought too. Most likely it goes from a welder to a balancer and he shaves off parts for balance. Maybe same guy...who knows.
Lotta guys using um (RFLOW etc) and no problems (cept me of course).

Thread Revive!
After reading lots of threads, I pulled the trigger..No one wants to buy my E55 so....
I just placed an order for the ASP Pulleys from K1 Motorsports...
I will let everyone know how it feels once I have it installed!
Since this thread talks about quality, I'll prob take some pictures and post it here when I get it so you can all look at it..

I received my ASP pulley about 1 week ago and will finally be installing my Pulley + Johnson pump tomorrow.
The build quality of the pulley looks fine to me although I haven't had the opportunity to investigate any other pulley's first hand.
I was quoted 1-1.5 hrs to install pulley plus pump which shouldn't be that big of an issue.
$85.00 per hour. I should be out the door for no more than $150.
Butt Dyno report to follow.

i live in az and it's not as bad as you're interpreting. with a properly working stock i/c system you will suffer heat soak but that's not the same as the s/c shutting down. if you have the updated i/c pump from mb (which you should under warranty) you shouldn't have any problems with s/c shut down. however, iat's still get high enough for the ecu to start pulling timing and adding fuel resulting in less power...but that's nothing like the s/c shutting off.
