To the left of the s/c pulley. You will see 2 silver tubes comming from the s/c and going to wards the belly pan the bleed nipple is on one of them. You wil have to remove the engine cover to access it.

The SL55 does not have a capped nipple. It is a hose that runs to the coolant overflow tank.

It might be the same with the CL55.

I don't know if you're talking about the upgraded stock one or the Johnson, but I got my Johnson CM-30 for $175 shipped from LET a couple months ago.

true!

I recently bought a new cm30 and pass the old cm30 to my c32.

My mechanic friend and I swapped the pumps in about 45 mins from start to finish. We were careful about spilling additional coolant.

After completing the install, we ran the car to reach reg operating temp and would turn on the heater to let the coolant flow.

Once the car is flowing coolant after a few minutes.. turn off the car, uncap the IC flow line, apply the clear tube and the other end to the reservoir.

turn on the car once more and watch for the air bubbles.. first would be large ones and followed by very tiny ones.. after a few mins.. the water is pretty solid.

turn off the car and remove the hose. pretty simple.

place back the cap and done.

I would do this routine after installing the pump and maybe a few days later just incase.

The clear hose is available at home depot for about $3. Sprinkler isle.
1/4" x .170" x 25 Polyethylene Tubing.

this particular tubing fits inside the nozzle of the IC line.. and I used small piece of duct tape just to secure it.

A couple questions for you guys that have done this.

Is the supercharger cooling system part of the engine cooling system or is it separate? From the bleeding picture BrianS posted, looks like it's all the same water system, but I wanted to make sure.

If different, does it use regular ethylene glycol engine coolant or some special type coolant? I'm going to replace my H/E at the same time and wanted to make sure I topped things off with the right stuff.

Thanks!

so basically you did the install without tapping the 12 volts? hows the car running now?
Just ordered my pump yesterday

Install the pump after the car your commute from work. Let the car sit for about an hour, so it won't be too hot to work on. Basically will need to splice 2 wires and a mounting bracket

Install the pump and run the car to activate the pump. If you do it on a Sat morning, it might take minutes befores the pump is activated, since its looking for a certain temp to turn on.

-----------------------------------

Cars runs good with the current setup.

But I still need to split the system... from the engine coolant.

having a bigger HE and pump makes a difference.. but splitting the system would improve the set up.

Coolant temps are aroud 200F, and even there is only "T" section that joins the IC coolant and Engine coolant, there is still a bleed through of both system.

Basically its like eliminating a hot water tap from mixing with your IC lines and give the ability of the IC coolant to only circulate through the bigger HE.

Based on recent review.. there is a faster pump now that can help the IC circuit circulate faster and recover faster. I will do that pump after my system split.

Quick question?

There is small air hose that is attached to the back of the stock IC pump... On the CM30 there is no place for this hose to go to. So Should I just leave alone or plug it with a screw? See pics below......

factory pump....

Just zip tie it somewhere and leave it be....its just a breather hose.

Mine is self bleeding and so is the S, SL and CL class 55. Our bleed line is not capped and runs into the coolant tank to bleed off air. I usually get the car warm and shut off and turn it on a few times. Once the pump kicks on, then I check and add fluid.

Found Shardul's description useful during install on my 06 e55:
'To the left of the s/c pulley. You will see 2 silver tubes comming from the s/c and going to wards the belly pan the bleed nipple is on one of them. You wil have to remove the engine cover [front part only] to access it.'

Same as main reservoir on driver's side.

I usually order my parts from the net from US guys. If you would like to get good deals with good care and recommendation, you may look for TTM (Bruce). Very good sponsor, you won't go wrong with TTM. I am sure if you ask him for discount, he will give you if possible.

Right bruce?

Tarek, I recommend you to go with Meziere pump or Johnson CM90 not the CM30. You may search my name for the thread of installing Meziere pump but I have to tell you it is noisy and you can hear the sound of the pump running while you are inside the car.

hi you dont need a bat to do this pump hook up the wire up ground the wire to the ground wire ground get a long wire like 18 gauge is fine under the cabin filter theres a aux bat just hook up the pos wire on the bat now
before you do this threres 2 siver pipes by the superchager belt right side
your see a cap nipple with a lil clamp remove the the nipple open the res to the coolant get a clear hose that will fit in the lil hole put it in the res of the
coolant now hook up the pos on the aux bat and let it run ontill you see the coolant come out clean no bubbles now cap it up and take off the wire from the aux bat hook it up to the other pos wire and your done
