LED license bulbs/front parking light bulbs

LED license bulbs/front parking light bulbs

I posted this in the W211 section but didnt get the exact reponse that I needed so I'm hoping that someone here will know. I have an 08 E350 and wanted to change the license plate bulbs, which I heard are 39 mm festoon bulbs. But I heard the lights have to be installed with some resistor. can someone show me pics on how to do this or where to buy them? I'm not sure how to do this.

For the parking light bulbs, I KNOW they are 168/192 wedge bulbs. But I am not sure if I need resistors on those. also would like to change out the interior bulbs like map and dome light, but not sure what side and/or resistors are needed.

This is weird because I changed out bulbs to LED in 2002 bmw without resistors. Is this for newer cars?
