Carlsson lowering moduale throwing "visit workshop code"
My car has the Carlsson LM and every once in a while the "visit the workshop" code comes up. Has anyone experienced this problem with their cars?
Also when I go over speed bumps it sounds like something may be loose with the rear suspension, has anyone heard anything like that with their cars? I only have 24K miles on my E55 and no accidents so I would think wear and tear would not be the issue.
I have a good guy that I work with at the SD benz dealership but they do know about the LM so it may be tricky. He did say that on the SL's the gas tanks would come loose and make a clanking noise. Has that happened with the E55's?

As for the thumping in the rear that is the nature of the air suspension. As the car compresses and decompresses over bumps you get a nice thumping sound like there is a dead body bumping around in your trunk. That can not be resolved as it is the nature of all MB's with AirMatic.
Once you lower the car the sound is more pronounced because the sound only occurs when the suspension is fairly compressed. So lowering the car means you hit that threshold far sooner than you would at stock ride height.
Good luck with the warning light but the thumping is nothing to worry about.

That is not true, I had my car lowered by the dealer....then after a while my rear always had a thumping noise as if I ran over a dead body.....it became on my nerve after a while so I took it to the dealer...They said my rear shocks were dead and replaced both rear shock absorbers...Now I hear no more thumping noises...

Same was present with my E500, S500, E350 Advantgard, and right now my R350, which is lowered a tad, makes the same sound. All have AirMatic.
But what do I know??

well Mercedes cars are always very weird....They are very unpredictable I'd say....maybe I was lucky....but who knows, maybe the thumping noise will come back next week...I dunno, I just got my car back like 2 days ago..

I plan on having someone outside of the dealership take a look at my LM. I am guessing I can adjust something on it to clear or stop the codes.
As for the thumping, I am assuming if I ask the dealership to look at it no matter what the problem is they will blame the LM.

Well, I did my lowering through the dealership...not kleemann, renntech or aftermarket tuners..
They did a great job actually...
