Wheels x 2

Guys,

I finally got my wheels. Well, I was back and forth on a few sets, and I decided to get 2 sets of wheels, for different purposes. First, I found a terrific deal on a slightly used set of Renntech Monolites, 20x9 front 20x10.5 rear, in black. So beautiful and very very light. I wanted these for the looks, period. 20s are hell to keep in great condition in the tri-state area, just have to drive very carefully.

Then I ordered a set of 19x9, 19x11 from CCW. This was the first set John from CCW made in 11 inch rear for the SL. They have only made 10.5 inch rear for Mercedes in the past. Therefore, I have the only set in the world with 11 inch rear of CCW!!! I actaully ordered these after I canceled my Iforged order. I love Iforged wheels, they make some great looking wheels, but I wanted lightweight. CCW makes awesome lightweight wheels that are one of the strongest in the market. I'm going to clear coat these polished wheels and make sure the shine stays.....I'm most likely going to be rocking these wheels for the most part.

The 20s are proving to be a harsher ride, but just looks so damn good. I have to get my wheels aligned early next week. As well as raise my suspension links a little bit.

I weighed both sets of wheels:
Renntech: 25.5 lb front 25.25 lb rear (no typo here, its .25 pounds heavier in the front)
CCW: 24.5 lb front 27 lb rear. (I was expecting to see lower numbers from CCW, but it's ok, because they are so gorgeous.)

I had to take the pics with my phone. My apologies if the quality isn't great. My camera is acting really funny, and my girl accidentally spilled some vitamin water on her camera, so we had to send that off to get it fixed.

Enjoy....

I found some Conti 295/30-19 winter tires. Thinking about putting them on these bad boys for the winter, after I clear coat these wheels. I ust can't stand stockers....LOL

Here are pics of the CCWs:

Those wheels look great. I saw some like that for sale on this site but didn't light the candle in time. Good luck with them. The other set look pretty cool also. I currently have the 20" Carlssons'. Had to send them out once for dings and will have to do it again soon as I caught a pothole. Once again, good luck and your car looks great. By the way, my car is the one that ran 12.06 flat last week at Milan Dragway. Had VRUS cams installed this week and going for the record Saturday. Wish me luck.

I wish I was in Sunny Cali...It would make things so much easier for me....haha....

I would never drive the SL when the weather is bad, it's the aftermath that's the worst. All the salt and crap on the roads after the storms. Hopefully this year won't be that bad. I haven't been back here during the winter in a few years.

Now i'm thinking should have gotten the S-class in 4matic....LOL....

Thanks! Well, I wanted them in black, and i'm glad I found them.

The price was great. I bargained, a lot, and it was a steal.

I found some Contiswintersport t810 s that go up to 295/30-19. All the other winter tires, i wasn't able to find anything bigger than 285. But, that will not fit the 19x11.

Sounds cool. I wonder how 360 forged wheels are. It looks pretty cool in my opinion, but I just wonder how the CF will hold up, especially when they are under pressure and from all the impact from pot holes and such. I've seen so much CF that jus cracks its unvelievable.

BTW, hows the CLS55 looking? I read in another post you got the Brabus Rocket bumper on!!!

i think that it is a laminate overlay on those wheels 360 forged wheels. so the structure of the inner is still solid metal and the carbon overlay goes over that. so it isn't really a carbon center...it is more for aesthetics....to give the look of carbon fiber.
