Having had the benefit of owning both of these beasts, they are both just AWESOME cars. If you have the chance to own both do it since they are both part of automotive history. The C6 Z06 is the best sports car for the money and one of the best sports cars on the market no matter what the cost. The E class AMG (55 or 63) is just crazy fast 4dr ROCKETS. My E55 with all its Kleemann goodies would run mid 11's with the baby seat in the back

Have not taken her to the track yet but Derrick who had a Kleemann E55 who know owns a 08 Z06 has been running low 11's and trapping about 125/126 on the crappy stock runflats in stock trim. With DR's and proper launch I can see getting into the 10's and keeping the car stock. The car is scary fast with so much power, but launching this beast is the hardest part. I wll be doing many more track events in this car then in the E55.

^^"why didnt we get the break instead?" Because you have an automatic and its much easier to launch your car. I'm not using this as an excuse, because I would have never asked for a break. Maybe the ZO6 driver didnt know how to launch his car(pretty obvious). But if both cars had equally capable drivers, this isnt even a fair race. The ZO6 would have killed the E55. There is no disputing that. Not taking anything away from you, its just that you beat a lousy driver, not the car.
And the bigger engine thing? C'mon, get real. you have a 5.4L supercharged motor. doesnt take much to make your motor more potent.

and our cars are known for heat-soaking...and how about this? i killed 3 Z06s by 2 1/2 car lengths about two months ago before my car went into the shop...it was usual street race from 40mph~135mph... For the last, if u r gonna talk like that on the benz forum (i guess u have 63?) , don't even post anything over here....it's 100% fact that u were being disrespectful from what i saw on ur post...this is an AMG enthusiast's forum..

Joon, I could definitely see your car running even with or pulling on a Z06. That thing is *****-out fast. (hope it gets fixed bro, good luck)
Has anyone seen SleeperX's video where he is running even with a modded Z06 until top-end? I think that gets overlooked, as does the video where he pulls on M5's and M6's on top...a properly modded and cooled E55 is really a forced to be reckoned with.

Thanks! We are planning a indoor cart day for our next chapter event! I attended a ///AMG Challenge were they had these high speed carts. We are trying to find something similar in the area. Once we have info I will post. All are invited, U should try and attend!

I had much worse responses when I posted my kill on video of a Z06.
Its just hard for the magazine guys to get it that it takes serious skill to keep the a** end of a Z06 down. Yes the driver had trouble and that is the only reason I won and it pulled me but it was too late...
Your E55 is much faster than a stock six three, likely near a full second so that would be quite a break..
A modded 55 is very close to a Z06 in the 1/4 mile.
We have several here and Jrocket was right there with him in his E55, the Vette seems to have more top end but the 55 is the better car in terms of drivability.
I know Venom would love to race you but he is kinda far. Can you guys explain the "break" what kinda break would you give a car 1 second slower?
I aprreciate immensely Wayne and his meets, This guy is top notch and there is nothing but respect for all you guys from me. I understand the difficulty many have when the ultimate sports car is taken down by a family sedan. A 600 hp E55 is simply quicker than a Z06 , it may not be quite as fast but its a drivers race all the way.
Great job on the Vette kills, I will stick to stock 55 races and C6 Z51's.

The break or bust, was requested by the Z06 driver. This basically means that he gets the jump! On a big block chevy, depending on his launching skills, this could be as high as 1/2 second in the 1/4 mile. However, keep in mind that a Z06 is going to eventually out engine(for lack of a better term) the 55. The best comparison I can make is to the Buick Grand Nationals in the 80's. Everybody wanted one, but not everyone could LAUNCH one. Maybe this guy couldn't drive, maybe he could. However, as a street racer requesting no clock, I believe that he has had time behind that wheel.

In addition, you should make the 'Vette run with his front tires on the back, since ENDSMTG's car was only shod with 275s......

I have never run heads up against a stock 55 but I am always up to the challenge. I will guarantee you it will be a close race. Thank you but I don't need a break. I didn't look at your sig so don't know if you are modded.Would like to make the playing field even though and I am waiting for 275 PS2's. These seem to be the tires all other 55's make their record runs in. Quite sure they are an advantage to my stock 265 Conti's.
PS Just read that you have the stage II set-up so a race against a stock 63 wouldn't be even. However, get back to me when you get to stage V, then I will give you a shot at the title against the VIPER.

Porsche, Lambo's(as in Lance Briggs's), Ferraris and the more than occassional Z06. Now I'm not agaisnt teaching a Viper a lesson or two either! Chicago Bear Lance Briggs has respect for the "Beast"....now!
