Manually shift in S mode?
When i race i usually downshift in S mode just to make sure it's on 1 and then mash it so the car shifts up itself. However, when i look at my rpm needle it seems to shift a little over redline. Is this normal?

I have recently found this trick too.
I think the "little over redline" has more to do with the accuracy of the tach and the fact that it is hard to slow down the needle as it flys to 7100RPM in 1st gear.
In my efforts to time my manual shifts from 1st to 2nd I have become very impressed that the auto-trans can get that close to redline without hitting the rev limiter.
