Lowering Mods
Okay, my car is still stock when it comes to lowering it, first I think what I just read from Canyon Carver, I think I might need to get the car correctly aligned, I've just had to replace my two rear tires due to sidewall falure from the inside? So where to go to get it aligned correctly in So. CA, and which way to mod the lowering where I can still use the drive control button inside the car, or will all modulers allow this?

You can go the less expensive route and modify the links, you can purchase one of the lowering modules that are offered by the various aftermarket tuners, or you can do it by altering the setting in the car's software.

What do you mean sidewall failed? Make sure you aren't rubbing on the inside. If you are, that is a different issue than alignment.
Many alignment shops in SD. You can pay and have it done by hand or just throw it up on a hunter. I have access to both.

Again, let's hook up... I was told that I wasn't rubbing, but I think the offset to the wheels are not right... need to find a shop around here that carries Brabus wheels and spacers.

If you guys are wearing out your inside edge of your rear tires its a camber issue. Alignment would help but use someone that's familiar with slammed Mercedes.

i did the modified links lowering mod.. and since its rubbing on the inside, i dont know what to do to help that.. first week of the mod.. my rear 2 contis went out, then i bought used toyos with 80% tread, and those popped on me in 2 weeks, so i bought brand new yokoma es100s on all 4, havent had a problem since but you can tell where the only one part of the tire is wearing off and the rest is good.. dont know what to do
i'll be lowering mine soon and just goit scared, wtf!

Actually, with these cars, if you are rubbing on the INSIDE and have no room on the outside to shift, playing with the toe may help. I actually like my rear slightly toe'd out.

I need to look at them to see if it is rubbing on the subframe. I can't think of much else under there that would contribute to failed sidewalls. Do they wear or just pop?

Damn, I should have stopped by to take a look. I was at the In-laws house in Harveston off Winchester just yesterday.
There are some cool cats at a place called DNJ wheels in the O.C. They are wholesalers but sell to the public and have smokin deals on the Vred's/
If it were my E55 I'd get the ReNntech Lm lowering module with the in cab adjustment and call it a day!

+1. Make sure you extend the harness and knobs. It makes it very flexible, then.
