V1 hard wire power

I've searched and searched and read every thread, but still don't have a good answer or, better, instructions.

I'd like to hardwire my new V1 to my E55. I've read everything from 'easy power' to 'no power' to 'give it up'.

I leave next week on a 1300 mile trip and would rather avoid using the cigarette adapter.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Threads would be fine, but I just couldn't find the right one for an E (2005 E55).

I just done hardwiring my V1 on my C55 few days ago.
Im not sure if the electrical system on W211 is simliar to W203 or not, but i followed this W209 guide, which is exactly the same as W203, and it took me only 10 min to hardwire, and around 20 min tucking all the wires into the headliner. (I also have the concealed display, thats why it took me so much time to hide the wires. It'll only take 5 min max if u dont have the concealed display.)
I find hardwiring to the dome light is the best/ most convinient method of all, becuase its closest to the rear view mirror (Valentine Research suggested V1 would work the best if mounted near rear view mirror ), so hiding wires with this method would be ALOT MORE easier than if u hardwire it to cig. lighter. (Also saves some time on taking the center console apart.)

I have yet to do my E55 but on my C32, I was ale to tap the power for the auto dimming rear view mirror and not rip half the car apart. The power to the sunroof circuit also works but has delayed power off on the C32 if memory serves.

Anyway, I plan to look at one of these options as it is less invasive to the car to keep everything in the general area of the headliner.
