That's what I said... doesn't make sense to me...
It was dyno'd at the same place as the after dyno... It might need better cooling.. I dont have the dyno chart so I am not sure at this point..
When Vadim gets back home, he'll post all the details and the graph.. This is pretty much all the info I have right now.

SL65 VRP1000 and 20" Monolites
Here is the baseline dyno
As some of you may know..
The VRP1000HP SL65 is my car.
Attached is the baseline dyno that I received from Vadim.
It looks like 538whp was the baseline, with the RT flash, and RT CF Airboxes.
As far as this being a "low" baseline, I agree. That's why I originally wanted the car worked on, as it just wasn't as "impressive" as I thought it should have been.
I have a buddy that has a K4 E55, that runs neck and neck with me (before Vadim got a hold of it, anyway). And, after posting on this website, you guys said that a K4 E55 shouldn't hold at tight as it did. So, anyway, that was the initial reason for sending it to Vadim.. Just figure out what was wrong..
And now the project has morphed into a one off, bad ***, SL, that I can hardly wait to get back.
It has taken 3 months to get this far, and I'm in no hurry, as I've told Vadim that I want it done right, and not done on schedule.
So, I'm just as excited as some of you guys.

+1...I always heard that those Renntech 65 cars make around 570HP at the wheels...Latest CL65 tuned by Renntech made 695 HP at the crank...something is NOT right with that SL65 if K4 can run with it...K4 should run with stock SL65 not moded...

Was your base line done in 3rd? Reason I ask is the mph seems very low. When we dyno my sl65 it runs to 170mph. If that is the case then a 4th gear run could yeild a few more hp and put you in the 550whp range. I have seen most tuned 65's at. It also looks as if your car detonated as well with that drop of on the chart. Good luck and your car is in good hands.

Vadim likes to dyno in 3rd gear and letting the transmission shift into 4th on its own.. this is the closest way to simulate real driving conditions so he doesn't believe in doing 1 gear pulls...
That dip you are seeing is the tranny shifting into 4th if I am not mistaken.
This car was unhealthy... its way too low at 538rwhp with a Renntech tune..
The interesting thing to make note of is we jumped 40rwhp and the car already had Renntech airbox to improve flow and a tune.. If the car was stock airbox the gap would of been even bigger.

Let me see if I can clear up some confusion:
I do not have baseline data on this laptop, so I have to post runs in separate graphs.
The reason for 3rd gear passes is lack of cooling on the dyno to keep making 175 MPH passes. Cold 4th gear run usually shows another 15-20HP. Hot one looses 25-30HP.
When I got the car it was only making 470-480 RWHP. After troubleshooting it, I was finally able to narrow it down to two bad MAP sensors. 65s have four map sensors, one had a broken feed and the other one had a small crack that was bleeding boost reading. Car made 541 RWHP, not great, but now graph looked clean and map sensors read correctly. Car was very rich - 10.5s and timing was high 18 degrees.
Stock 65s, that I have dynoed back in 2005, were in 490-510 range. It appears that newer ones (2006-2008) are closer to 520-530 range.
When I made initial data logging on the car, stock intercoolers were loosing 3-3.5 lbs accross, not good. So my first goal was to replace them with better flowing design. Since we had to use some of the stock air boxes real estate, new air intake design was in order. The result is what you see in the pictures.
So, if we compare data from MPH stand point:
MPH Before After
85 500 520
90 530 550
95 540 570
100 540 577
105 540 566
110 530 572
115 510 566
Not huge gains, but a lot better breathing on top.
The tune is about the same, a bit less fuel and 2 degrees less timing. If we use 100 octane, I think I can get it very close to 600 RWHP.
The main problem is that we are out airflow. The turbos are done. New intercoolers recovered 2 psi of boost and kept charge temperatures delta under 50F degrees (stock were 75F)
GT40s are next.............![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I need a completely stock 65 to test and finalize tune to make a production power package.

Thankls Vadim great work BTW. Will these intercooler yeild the same gain on my car? Also will the tranny hold or do we need to look at that before we add this? Did you get any idea of lbft gain? Any word on price for this set up? Did you run one or two cm30's? Did you change the heat exchanger or is it stock?

Out Of Control!!
Hope you have deep pockets buddy. You have alot of hope in something that hasnt been proven yet. Engine rebuild and turbos. Even then you will have trouble unless you aren't goign to be daily driving your car.
