1000 HP AMGs
As HP wars keep escalating, 500, 600 and or even 700HP are no longer head turning numbers. Over the past number of years Vipers, Corvettes, Mustangs and of course Supras have climbed close or above this number. One of the high-power cars that I have helped tune, a number of years ago, was a Supra with T88 single turbo. It put out 750 RWHP with 27 psi of boost and 870 RWHP with 200HP shot of "juice".
It had a TQ curve of a mountain cliff and personality of a bulldog with mental problems.
I usually reffer to cars with these power levels as "Jesus" car - if you never believe in "Jesus" before - you will be screaming his name riding it.
When it comes to AMGs, to the best of my knowledge, there are several cars in high500s and couple are in mid600s on juice. One is 600 and one is 55. Both are capable of more and now time has come to truly unleash the beasts.
SL65. It has full RennTech Stage II with software and CF air boxes. The plan is to go to 1000HP, with room to go more if needed.
Car will be done in three stages. First, bigger intercoolers and air boxes, new exhaust manifolds and bigger turbos and lastly ported heads with cams. We are planning to create an upgrade path for current 65 and 600 owners in stages. Right now the intercoolers are almost complete.
Later this week we are starting on air boxes and exhaust manifolds. I will keep this thread updated with pictures as we progress.
E55. Victor and I have talked about adding twin turbos to 55s for a long time now. After looking at number of different scenarios, we agreed to simply blow into the kompressor. Over the years I have seen a number of similar setup work very well. Kompressor keeps low-end TQ, turbos add high-end HP. This setup should keep cost fairly low and installation simple.
This will be our next project when 65 is complete.

"we agreed to simply blow into the kompressor".
This and control over the bypass valve= beast to Monster.

The part was ordered and will arrive tomorrow..
ESP will be very intrusive... Car will need a really good tire to hookup... We'll see how it is to drive once we are done, and then de-tune if necessary.
As for transmission, the 65 has the strongest MB tranny.. its rated for 1000nm of torque if I recall correctly.. It should be ok but we are looking into that aspect also.
Is that much power usable though, is the car going to be drivable at full power?
How about the transmission, will it handle the power AS-IS?

Your name goes down for second set of intercoolers... Did you send Vadim those blank cheques yet? hahahahah..
