Famoso Update
I just got an update from Famoso's owner himself. It turns out my detailer (a good friend of mine) is somehow related to the owner of Famoso, so he got me in touch with him and worked out a pretty good deal. He explained to me that the rates of insurance, ambulance, etc..... is just too high here in California, but he is willing to work with us. Here is his offer:
We can rent the track for 4 hours at $250 / car for a maximum of 10 cars. Otherwise, the insurance rate goes up even higher.
Saturday 12/22/2007 is no good because throughout the month of december, they disassemble all their equipment for maintenance and renovation. He said maybe 12/29/2007, but he'll let me know.
So, if we can get 4 more people to complete the list, I'll have to cut it off on first come first serve basis. However, I'll also start a waiting list just in case any cancellations occur.
So, what do you guys think so far?

How about the rest of the people on the list? Are you guys still in? I know I am. Only 10 cars running should provide us with many runs ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Also, as a bonus: there are 2 Ferraries coming: I think both of them are F430s

Sorry guys, I just got word from the track that they will NOT allow night sessions. Aparently, it gets "misty" or humid here after 6:00 p.m. I will aim for one of the following if possible:
7 am to 11 am
8 am to 12 pm
1 pm to 5 pm
2 pm to 6 pm
I agree John, I know it is very pricey
but what can we do ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
East Coast guys pay $150 per car and race whole day (and no limit to number of cars). But here in California, it seems to be $7500 to rent a drag strip. That's what Fontana quoted me, that's what Famoso quoted me, Sacramento quoted $5,000 without prep, and $6,000 including prep, and I'm still waiting on a quote from Infineon. I don't know why east coast guys can rent whole track for $2,000 while we need at least $7,000
It is very frustrating ![action](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/action1.gif)
Everybody I talked to blames it on insurance, ambulance, etc......
I really want you to come, but I understand if you can't make it.
So far, here is the confirmed list:
1) rarfinancial
2) juicee63
3) MB_Forever
4) gE63
5) Shawn
Common guys, just 10 people for 4 hours
we should be able to get million runs in. We can try all kinds of different launch scenarios. At Sacramento, there were 58 cars yet I still managed to get 18 runs in (and I let the car cool down for 1 hour).
Lets do this........
7 am to 11 am
8 am to 12 pm
1 pm to 5 pm
2 pm to 6 pm

Insurance is the thing killing rental prices.
If we could start running at 7am sharp, that would be the best time slot.I would want a true 4hrs of track time with these kind of prices, specially since its such a short time frame of running.

Okay guys, the verdict is in...................... I have some good news and some "okay" news ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Famoso will be closed until January 10th due to a delay in the shipments of their new equipment (they change most of their equipment every December). So, we won't be able to get the private track rental we wanted in December.
However..........
We have setup a track rental that will either be on Saturday 01/19/2007 or Sunday 01/20/2007. Yes, this rental is right after Fontana
This rental will be limited to ONLY 75 cars and will cost $75 / car. It will be a full day of racing on both lanes. Racing will probably start at 10 am to 6 pm.
Okay, here is the bad news.........
We only have 5 spots open, and I just "reserved" them all. I will give priority to the people already on the list above. If someone on the list can't make it, I'll offer the spot to the next person on the list and so on. So please add your name to the list if you are interested.
For the first 5 people on the list, please PM me if you still want to come (given the date change) and know that you will show up 100% so that I can start confirming each spot. They want the money in advance, so as soon as I confirm the date and time, I will PM you where to send the payment......
