Just imagine what a 4.4 TT V8 will do to a torque limited E63 and M5.

As it stand right now, a fully modded 335i (FMIC, piggy back, Dp's, exhaust) can run with E60 M5's and CLS55. Do a search for "Walk-U" on the E90post and you will see your self. While it can't make the pass, its does very well.

I speak in terms of modding potential, so you need to let go of those factory spec comparisons. There are useless. 400 vs 469 Again, useless!

The engine is brand new for BWM, but it will find its way to the aftermarket tuners. (Vishnu, SSTT, Dinan and probably Terry)

Remeber.. I'm speaking in terms of potential power (55 engine vs 4.4TTengine) and you can include transmission to the mix as well.

last point.. look at the 335,135.. its already eating away sales of E46 M3's (last year) and "some" E92 M3 (future owners). How can you quantify that? you can't, but you can only read forums E90post.com to make that conclusion. Something I do everyday.

If a v8TT engine is released to a 5 series, the same trend in theory would apply. Unless the M5 receives turbos as well (rumor has it) Did you know that?

Also, I can only speak of E55 owners.. but if a "new" 5 series is release with this motor, it will potential steer me away from purchasing a used E63, C63 or CLS63. Unless AMG has something to counter this engine.

I have been here on this forum for a while now.. never have I onced been accused as a hater, specially since I own 2 AMG's. (not lease... OWN)

I frankly find amusing that you are trying to make me look like a entry level enthusiast. Far from it.

I have helped developed a FMIC for E55 guys and spent hours with Brandon Code3 Performance.
helped develop a simple fix for our Kompressor Clutch bearign issues, IC pump, and other small issues with the C32.

I have contributed more than you probably will on this forum.

I'm going to ask you once as a gentleman.. if you don't like my posts, don't reply to them.
Ok.. here is my take

Modding is a rare thing and is not somthing the mass market does. So no the v8TT will not be doing mass killing in the mass market. Will it take a few peopel away from the sport side of the M group maybe. The M is not just engine afterall (another aspect to look at aside from engin is the image!!) no one cars when they see a 335 next to an M3! in the streets. In their eyes its a normal 3

Secondly these tuned 335 are awsome from all the hype they are getting....they are also not tested fully and numerus peopel have had limp mode activated and GASP!! heat soak...... so you end up with a less reliable car and one that is proven to have some problems. (loss of warrenty to get a car, when fully modded with everthing that is out there on the market to hang with M5/ E55 stock) why i ask?
If its price E55/ M5 used can be gotten for same price no? then mod that and lets see

and lastly how many BMW 550 do you see in the streets? better yet how many E500? i see very few..(rare to an extent infact) and i have not seen one 335 in kuwait yet... and this is the middle east

each one is intitled to his opinon though, and so long as you like it thats what counts as you will be buying it

Actually, I've been hearing rumors that they will ditch the 6.3 all together and twin turbo the mercedes 550 engine

Oh, so because I haven't heard of a model "135" makes me... what? Lesser then you? You ever heard of a Sedici?

We even.

Look, I think you got me all wrong, like I said before I'm not trying to jump on you or anything-- I just found it funny how you would thrash Mercedes (those you *own*) and then well... own two of them.

No hate from this side, I was just trying to make sense of your posts. I actually like your posts, informative as they are punitive (towards Mercedes, it just so happens). Oh well... just because you collect apples doesn't mean you can't throw them away.

Happy motoring

No worries, Benz is coming

http://www.leftlanenews.com/daimler-...in-europe.html

Mercedes is getting their ducks in order because their going all in on turbo's.
But better than just selling a highly tunable turbo engine Merc is going to capitalize on the turbo parts market itself.
I'm betting on a 55TT before a 63TT.

Personally I find that the X6 doesn't do anything right. You want power get an M5. You want utility get an X5 or X3. You want to stand out in a crowd get a Z4 Coupe (assuming you must have a BMW). I remember seeing the first promo of this thing with Bangle talking about how it handles like a road car that sits high. I'm sorry but BMW cannot redefine physics no matter what their fanboys say. The engine is nice but I think they had to put it in the car since it will be a pig with any other engine.

Real Life

I was driving on 485 in Charlotte this afternoon, and out of nowhere a BMW X6 comes up. SC tags, must have been a tester from the plant in Spartanburg. Just the 6 cylinder, but the car was beautiful. Looks much much better in person. Lady driving was really cool too.
