Service 'C' - ECU

My car is due for Service C, after reading various posts I am worried taking it to my local Stealer. I have an ECU u/g and pulley and worried the dealer will flash the ECU back to the standard. How do I prevent this?

Tell the SA not to flash your car and hope your relationship is worth your request.

That is about all you can do or re-tune it if they reflash.

Wouldnt be a bad idea to see what the SA thinks about ECU flashes before you tell him not to flash yours though.Thats kind of a dead give away that your car has been modded. If he's not on board with ecu tunes, then just let then do their work and have your tuner redo your car later, and avoid the possibility of future hassles over your ecu tune.

Good point, but the ECU tuners are not local they are from the UK - 1 hr flight and I will need a day off work as well. Service C is this just an oil change?

Just pull the ecu out, mail it to them, they will flash it and return it.Simple job I would think.

If you really just need an oil change, I am sure there are a lot of garages that will take care of you. On my 2004 E55, I changed my oil more often than the scheduled service and had a local auto mechanic do the work for about 70 dollars.

+1

Don't risk losing your warranty for an oil change.
