Wheels looks good. Was curious on the color of the EC. Why'd you choose that color? Any particular reason or what?

I am a big fan of old muscle cars and back in the 60-70's they had crazy blue shades for their engine blocks. I decided on 69 Pontiac blue and thats how i came up with the color.

i actually ordered the wheels that way from DPE. I am sure there are shops in the local area that could do the same thing for you. I would ask on the forum if anyone knows of a shop.

lucky your car is black and you can pull off the red.. ive been wanting to do this for a long time now.. but didnt want people to say im going back to the old jdm me..
but i wonder if i can pull it off with silver, with 20inch matte black vossen wheels

You can do red on silver. Just add calipers and maybe something else to blend a bit.

i honestly think it would go good.. but it might make it look a bit ghetto(jdm) like someone said.. takes away the prestige, but i know ill definitely get more looks and have more friends from now on with honda civics, but also another idea though...

the most common color of wheels ever since the whole car scene started, is black face with chrome or polished lip, so i was thinking, have the face in polished finish, and have the lip in black.. dont know if thats been done, but i definitely want to try, deep dish black lip that is, not your style jangy yea?

its been done there was a guy here with a E63 that did it to his HREs I didnt like it. I actually have his rims right now but they are in the paint shop

ohhhhhh noooo!... but can you try to get me some pix before the wheels get painted?? i really wanna see how it looks, or maybe some pix when it was still on his car

their already painted all black! he was a member here I forget his name he had a E63 and he was from miami. he had 2-3 different rims on his car in a month. if someone remembers his screen name we can search for the pictures. but trust me it didnt look good. it looked like the rims were small and the tires were big the way it was painted.

IMO the setup is cool but there is something missing. I think you need some contrast on the wheels and I say this with only looking at your pics and not having seen the car in person.

I like black out wheels but not so much on an E55 ... I am used to seeing them on 350Z's and more aggressive looking cars. Maybe a standard chrome lip or like others said a time attack red stripe to set it off.

Other than that, congrats and we can all have opinions but its yours that matters the most.

do a time attack silver stripe...if you do red, i think you gatta paint the brakes red too

I got the wheels from dynamic performance engineering or DPE for short. the price varies based on size, finish and so on, i paid around $5k with tires but I am running PS2 which are more costly.

I was going back and forth with the stripe and in the end the DPE guy told me that the stripe is better suited for coupes than sedans. I will probably get it down the road.

now to thnk about it.. the part when you said it makes the tires look big and rims small.. thats actually true, never thought about that, so forget it then.. but i still want to do matte black with time attack red lip!!

I luv the look! It looks hard. If it were my car I would keep it the way you have it. I would only pinstripe when I decided to do a change up

I think so too. I probaly will buy a pinstripe kit from an autoparts store and see what it looks like on the wheels before I committ to getting it striped.
