2005 E55 w/ no NAV, how hard to add NAV?
hey,
im at Valencia now looking at a 2005 E55, it doesn't have NAV. How hard would it be to add?
Isn't it weird that a 2005 wouldn't have NAV? (but has keyless go, ipod integration)
Its missing parktronic, distronic, pano though but is CPO.
Is there anything that you guys can tell me to think about and make sure i get / check while im here? I'm trying to think of everything ive read for months but im sort of excited :/

yes actually, i wouldve posted sooner but i got a terrible migraine on the way home and ended up being sick once i got here.
No major frills
2005 E55 Silver/Charcoal
KeylessGo, iPod, Rear sunvisor
CPO for another 2 years
No NAV (pre-wired) but will be adding that along with Sirius.
My first step will probably be some wheels and tires as the current setup (stock) just has no traction and is no fun to drive because ESP keeps kicking my ***.

I did want to add Sirius though, so please give details on this upgrade (part numbers and cost).
Congrats on a great car. I also had an S2000 I sold a few weeks ago. Don't expect it to be as fun to drive as the S2000, but you will appreciate it as a daily driver and straight line rocket.

The E is so much more quiet then my SL was... I don't know if I like that yet or not.
I can barely hear the exhaust from inside with the windows closed.
It also feels like it rides a lot smoother or something because on the way home I was actually doing 100+Mph down I-5 South and didn't even realize it; maybe I've just been sensitized by the S2000 and its ride for the last 5 months.
i definitely need to get another passport 8500 that's for sure.

Don't worry about navigation, it'll be a very easy install , and I think can even be added by the dealership. Only 2003 models were almost impossible to add navigation to, but 2004+ models were navi friendly. But contact steve @ MBenzNL anyways, as he does excellent work.

Congrats on the purchase. The MBZ Nav is not that great, a few months ago I was going up to Buttonwillow near Bakersfield and the MBZ nav couldn't find the place, but the Tom Tom had it, so I drove up with the Tom Tom on the window even though my car has Nav (thought it was kinda weird). I heard you can hard wire the Tom Tom and place it on your windshield where it's not in the way, maybe on the left lower corner.
Cheaper, and better. Dunno, just a thought. Congrats on the purchase.
