The CLK DTM is one of my favorite cars, and while this is a bargain by comparison, this is 997TT money, used Gallardo money, etc...don't have to think much more about it. But something tells me that their intended market wil snap these up.

Try to take regular CLK 63, do all that to it for less than $50k, make the fit and finish perfect and then warranty it. Fact is, you can't and neither can anyone else - that's why it's so unique. Oh yeah, and you can use it as a daily driver.

However, while this is a good track car, it is not a great track car. My GT3 which was loaded at $135K and took another $7K to put in euro seats, upgraded rotors/pads, factory harnesses, and factory rear cage would eat it alive and do so for not that much more money. Granted it is not a great daily driver even though I often used it as such.
I will own one but I think that it could have been done cheaper and that I will let someone else take the hit of the first $40K+ for me. I go through a lot of cars and I have learned my lesson with new AMG cars as I have lost more on them with resale then any other car I have owned. They have all been some of the most enjoyable machines that I have owned which really makes me want to own a C63 and CLK63 Black now but then I think about the money I will burn when I sell them in 12 months and cringe!
If I could afford to blow the extra money, buy them new and still "sample" as many different machines as I have been fortunate to have been able to, I probably would. Since I can't, I just wait an extra year or two and buy yesterday's news with 6-10K on the clock.
Or I suppose that I could be "normal" and buy a new car, keep it for 3 years and then buy another but where would the fun be in that...I am faithful to my wife, not my cars!
