E55 to SL65?
As a matter of fact, mods more than likely would lower the price of a car or at the very most not impact the car's price at all...it should be treated like any other car that has similar miles and interior/exterior condition.
Just my .02.
I will say, the V12TT (in 600 or 65 form) is a "better" engine than the 55K engine. However, I found that the SL in time loses it's thrill to drive - and I personally found myself looking for something much more engaging. The SL is an ideal 3rd car... 1 sedan, 1 sports car, 1 roadster.

You should sign up for the MB Challenge where they let you drive all the 55s or now 63s. I did this and I can tell you that the SL drives like a much heavier car, especially in the front end.
I would recommend trading you car in for the CLS is you want something different.,or maybe you can ship you present car to Vadim and have him drop in a 1000hp TT12 engine.

I agree with this in full. AMG challenge really allows you to explore the limits of these vehicles. In autocross the car that was the fastest by far was the SLK. THe SLs were not great handlers....compared to true sportscars, ie Pcars, Vettes, Ferrari etc.
That being said, I would love one but I won't get rid of my Vette. It's a POS but it is extremely quick, fast, and fills my need for a pure in your face 2 seater. The extra 1000 pounds of the SL puts a damper on my fun.

I know how the 55s all felt. Let's face it, none of us buys an AMG to carve corners. We own them for the thrill of feeling what it is like to command a car that could run 11 second 1/4 miles. The straight line rush. Having said that, I don't want a boat. So I am arranging a test drive of the CL600 that I am looking at. If I don't enjoy it (and I know its weight will be felt), I am not buying it.I hardly ever drive my E - 41 months and 13,800 miles. I can count the number of times I have ever had anyone (kids included) in the back. Sometimes, I actually forget where controls are located or think my power steering pump must have died because I have driven my Jeep for 25 consecutive days. Whatever I replace the E with is also probably going to come out on rare occasions also.
.Seriously, these threads about SL vs E just don't make much sense to me. They are performance cars but very, very different in execution.

! My wife might kill me, but I think a couple of Louis Vuitton's and Gucci bags will probably be the price I have to pay for my car fetish.
