Brake warning using aftermarket pads

Has anyone got the best solution? I rigged my old sensors ad now the signal is gone. I assume this can be done by star as well, no? Modifying the sensors took all of half an hour and works great with my pporterfields. i check my pads all the time, anyways.

As far as I know, you can't shut it off with the SDS.

How did you do that?
I'm tired of getting the check brake message...

That was done to my setup also...no message at all. All that needs to be done is just to check pad wear. I do that now every month when I take off the wheel and clean the inside of the rim, rotors, and calipers.

You can definitely just wrap the sensor up. As long as the loop is closed, you get no error. I just cut mine to get rid of the excess.

Afetr doing this, I actually was able to dremel the Porterfield pads to hold the sensor. They already have holes for teh sensor, but just no clip to hold the housing. Being brakes, i decided not to test them out. I'll just go with checking my wear on the pads manually.

Jangy...

I cant remember now if I ended up getting the Pagid pads or the Porterfield R4S pads from Evosport with my 2piece rotors, but whatever they are, I have the sensors intact and everything works fine.

Well, this was all just a learning experience. I ended up folling all the wires under car to figure out where they end up. You can even unplug the sensors at the source and make a loop there. For now, I want to find a way to safely get the pads modified to work. I'll call porterfield. I'm in the area enough and know the cat, so I'll show him what it needs and see what he says.
