SL65 AMG
CLK DTM vs SLR
Does any one know how these cars stack up with each other? Seems the dtm would be the more rare and maybe the faster car? I know some have been brought into the states and one was for sale at lotus AZ. What do the dtm's cost? I thougt they were 300k but I dont recall. Seems a modded dtm would be the car to have and even in terms of resale would be a great car. Did they only come in blk and silver? Thanks guys.

Saw a CLK DTM at the Newport Beach Concours in ‘06. He had acquired the requisite one-day DOT and EPA exemptions to drive it there. The same gent had a DTM cabriolet on display last year. The SLR, on the other hand, is certified by the feds for practical highway use.
Not too shabby –

The last couple of CLK DTMs that I have seen for sale have been $500K+-. I would rather have a CLK DTM then the SLR but the SLR is going to out do the the DTM in a straight line battle, especially the SLR 722. On a track, bye bye SLR!
That aside, I just love the CLK DTM while I have never quite figured out the SLR. THat being said, I would rather make a grocery store run in an SLR.

IMO, I actually think that the Black Series is a better looking car. It would have made more sense to put the 582hp engine in the $130k CLK Black Series.

SLR is very nice but out of reach for most of us. The Black Series CLK would have been (not that it isn't) bad *** if it had the DTM 582hp engine. At 130k it wouldn't have any competition (straight line, handling or stopping )until you get above what 250-300k and up...and again this is my opinion.
Take alittle trip to VRP and your pushing more power than the SLR!

If that is what you think of the CLK DTM, then you have no idea what you are looking at.
About the only CLK component that is left in that car is the original frame.
Good luck building a car like that for that kind of a price.
It is a shame they only built 100 and that it was not factory supported in the US.
The car is bad *** and will go down as one of the ultimate AMG's of all time....

also the engin is not the same..wel saem engin but lots of things changed
wet sump/dry sump suspention lots of carbon fiber, seat wings exhust headers. it even has a carbon fiber engine box (front).
i saw it at the dealer.....but i have to admit SLR hands down
its fast and its the head turner and looks the business....but then again if you have the DTM u r really special but only you know that

Uhhh, absolutely not. A CLK63 is a "maxxed out CLK) while the CLK DTM is a homologation special for the DTM racing series with any, many, many changes over a CLK. THere is more different than similar about the cars so it is hard to compare a CLK DTM to a CLK 63 in any way. Not to mention that the CLK DTM is 3 times the price of a CLK63 so even if you are paying for low production numbers, you are still getting something special for your money.

Having peronally ridden in both the SLR and DTM, I felt the DTM was faster...even in a straight line. The exhaust note is amazing. They are around $250-300k then they have to be converted.
